The trailer said 2014.

The forum post said this summer.

I seriously doubt it's fan made. If it is, then they must have some real powerful technology to make a trailer like that.

Also, usually most people say that it's a fan-made trailer in the description.

Wait a minute...............it is home made? ....Well, if it's fake, it's fake....but how do you know whether or not something is fan made. It said SEGA Corporation in the description.

EDIT

Okay, so I checked more than one YouTube channel. They both say that they found it and decided to upload it. I asked one of them if they made the trailer. No response yet. It could be fake. But I studied the video carefully.....it does not look fake at at all. Even if it was fanmade, it's hard to believe. Also, SEGA hasn't really mentioned a lot lately......just thinking.

Like I said, if I'm wrong then I'm wrong.

Yes, this real powerful technology is in fact accessible to anyone with the money (Or those who are inclined towards piracy, but ya know: not acceptable discussion here).

My point is that in this day an age, almost anything can be faked. Especially video and still images.

Don't get me wrong, it looks cool. But it's not real simply because it looks convincing.

Besides, why resort to obviously vectorized images when the renders of other consoles look lots better in comparison?

Not to be rude, but news flash: People lie.

I've seen articles where people have made portable devices using SNES circuitboards. I've even seen a woodgrain video game console someone with some insane carpentry skills crafted (I don't remember which console they cannibalized to form the guts of the system, but even the controller was a thing of artistry). So with enough skill, know-how, and tenacity, people can make video game systems out of pretty much whatever they want.

But SEGA unveiling a new console? I have my doubts... last I heard, SEGA had decided that they were bowing out completely from the whole console wars and were focused exclusively on the software side of things. Since that does seem to be working well for them - they were one of the companies to purchase one of the game studios from the THQ collapse, and they've expanded their presence in Australia - I don't think they'd be changing this model any time soon - especially with juggernauts like Micro$oft, Sony and Nintendo to wrestle with.

I'm thinking the video is a fake - perhaps a fan-made pipe dream.

Sorry. It's definitely fake. You can tell it was done in a 3D modeling program by looking at the edges of the console and the lack of anti-aliasing.

Besides, SEGA doesn't have the funds to create a new console in this day and age. They're better off publishing games.

So much for getting my hopes up. And I have no idea what ant-aliased is.

It's a way of making the edges more smooth. Look here:

Notice how it gets smoother?

Most console games don't have AA so you can get very used to not having it. But if you prefer playing on a PC, it makes a HUGE difference.

Anyways, that's what gave it away that the console was a 3D object. Since if I created a video of the console in my hands, you wouldn't have those jaggies.

Oh, speaking of fan made trailers,
someone made a crazy one about a HD remake of Majora's Mask.

Even though this is fake.
It does make me excited to see what Nintendo might try to do with HD graphics on future Legend of Zelda games.

I seriously considered it. But I dislike Microsoft more.

I'd like to question why you'd say that.

The only thing I can seriously think of that I would say is money hungry, was the whole PS Vita memory card thing. That was just plain ridiculous. The PS3 price range was high, but that's because the hardware was ridiculous at that time.

Other than that, I'm really scratching my head here.
