Do You Remember?

I know the subject title may seem a little odd. But please stick with me for a minute. If you read a game is coming out in three days, five days, a week, two weeks, maybe a month. Do you remember that?

I am asking for a very specific reason. PR firms are under the impression that you forget. If they tell the gaming community a game comes out in a week they believe they need to remind gamers multiple times in that week.

I see stuff like: our game comes out in a week, then it comes out in five days, then it comes out in three days, then it comes out tomorrow, and finally its out. Well technically some do not stop there. Our game came out yesterday, three days ago, last week, last month.

Does it bother you to see the same games covered over and over again?

How much is too much for you?

Do you gloss over stories, and topics because its the 15th story on say Tiger Woods PGA Tour and its not out for a month still?

Or if your interested in a certain product, can you not get enough of it?

I would really appreciate some opinions on this topic.

It's their job to promote games. I just use discretion with what I post on the site. :) If there's a trailer, beta, expansion or release I'll post it. If there's a big update I may post about it. Anything else I shrug my shoulders and delete.

It's how they make their monehs.
They post a bunch of ads in newspapers, in magazines, and online.
Some even pay random people to flood forums and chat rooms with rave reviews of their products.
The purpose of it? To get people pumped about the game so that they'll buy it.
And then they use the cash to make even bigger projects so they can get even more moolah.
And then they use the money they make from those projects to pull off even more big projects.
It's a relatively simple cycle.

Hmmm... how I feel about seeing info on a game... over and over again?
Well, it doesn't really bother me to much,
because if I am not interested in a game, I usually ignore any info on it.
If it's a game I am really interested in, I still try to ignore it so I won't spoil any surprises. :P
If it's a game I am thinking/unsure about getting, then I'll read info to see if it's worth it.

Hmm...
I am not sure if this is the kind of info you wanted,
so if I left out anything let me know. :)

We have a game that's coming out in a month!

We have a game that's coming out in two weeks!

We have a game that's coming out in a week!

We have a game that's coming out in two days!

We have a game that's being released TODAY!

We have a necessary patch that needs to be downloaded and installed before the game we released last week can be playable because we didn't finish our quality control checks due to the looming deadline....

We have another mandatory upgrade for the game we released last month... but no one is playing that anymore, so let me tell you all about it's SEQUEL!

I'm thinking of Assassin's Creed here. Not only are they releasing a trailer God knows how early, they're hyping up (on facebook, at least) the COUNTDOWN OF THE TRAILER.

Ok, the trailers are usually pretty cool, but come on. It's like they're 12 years old.

GUISE GUISE GUISE MOAR STUFF TROLOLOLOLOLOLOL R U READY????
