I am considering pulling my own tooth.

Because blast it hurts. Not all the time, but if I chew on that side or some other random little thing...yeesh. It borders on agony. Going from my tooth all the way up my jaw. The dentist warned me when he fixed it that if it kept hurting it was going to need to be pulled or canaled...6 months later, I'm eying a pair of pliers and wondering just how high my pain tolerance really is. And/or how much Tylenol I could consume without killing myself or passing out.
We've got insurance of some sort, but it's still a lourd of money. If it weren't a dirty wisdom tooth I'd be less leery of yanking it myself.
The point is, I should've gotten it pulled 6 months ago instead of letting my mom talk me into getting it fixed. Would've saved money, and I refuse to get a root canal given the expense and the lack of a guarantee that it would remove the pain.
In short, I'm tired, grumpy, need to be up in 4 hours, and I've got a tooth that, when it gets in the mood, can nearly send me to my knees and rob me of speech.
WOE IS ME I HAVE A PAIN.

Trying to pull a Wisdom Tooth? I would not advise it. If the tooth is that sore as it is, trying to pull it out of your mouth will either coax a Kratos-grade agony yell from you, or you will weaken at the knees with your eyes welling up, frantically trying to find your happy place.
The next logical step would be, of course, to numb your mouth up good. Either you're using an over the counter brand of anesthetics (Kanka, Advil, etc.) which will have little or no effect, or you're doing something horribly stupid and/or possibly lethal.
People pay tens of thousands and study for years to learn how to do this properly. I had a team of four working on me when I got my wisdom teeth out. You can't do it by yourself properly, and even if you did, self-performances of wisdom tooth extraction aren't often smiled upon by the medicinal community.
My verdict:
PULLING THAT TOOTH YOURSELF IS A BAD IDEA.

Don't do it. Even the queen thinks it's a bad idea.

I tend to go Kratos more than weak kneed, but I rarely experience that intense level of pain. It has robbed me of speech at times, so it's a coin flip. As for doing something horribly stupid and/or possibly legal, well, driving is possibly legal, and I went to college. Clearly, I'm not afraid of being stupid.
Thirdly, people pay good money to learn how to plug things in, and I flatulate upon the medical community. WITH PREJUDICE.
Fourthly, I've decided to hold off a bit. Strenuous dental care seems to have taken away 90% of the pain. And really, as much manly cred it would earn me to pull my own tooth, my parents would absolutely kill me. XD

Option 1: You go to the dentist, take the $$$ hit and thank yourself for it later.
Option 2: You try to yank it yourself, breaking the tooth in the process and probably leaving chunks of it behind in your gums. You will learn what the phrase "WORLD OF PAIN" means. You will find yourself in an Emergency Room a short time later at which point you will be paying for an ER bill, an emergency dental procedure, and possibly dental surgery to repair the damage depending on its severity. The $$$ hit will be about 5 times as much, the pain will be 10 times as intense, and I'll demand your address so I can mail you your official Government-issue "I am a bona fide moron" sign.
I'm glad you've decided to hold off.
