Wut are your opinions on PSY's new #1 song, Gangnam Style?

I think the music video is kind of funny, although some parts are just flat-out weird. However, I don't have any real opinion on the song itself because 99% of it is in Korean.

Lyrics talk the guy wanting a good girl, while saying he has "gangnam" style.

During the Music video, you see a guy continually posing a "lavish lifestyle" even though around him is a life that is not.
It opens with him at the beach, but you zoom out and he's in a playground.
You see him in a horse stable and walking into snow, but it's a warehouse and it's actually garbage.
Instead of a limo, he's in a bus filled with old women.
And so on.

Now, Gangnam is a very rich district in Seoul, Korea, known for it's very extravagant lifestyle. What we see is a guy, who we can assume is poor or common, acting like he has this very rich lifestyle. The chorus is him telling a girl that he has this rich lifestyle, but is foiled by the lyrics were he wants a girl whose down to earth and real.

What I grabbed from the song itself, personally, is the emphasis on being comfortable with who you are not trying to chase lavish lifestyles to elevate your standing, if so you'll only end up looking silly and weird.

I'm Korean and I approve of this post.

Way cool, didn't know that.

Glad you approve. I'm only half, so I really only understood the chorus...

Actually, I'm only half-Korean as well. Didn't mean to cause any confusion or anything, it's just a bad habit of mine. Whenever I get asked my heritage in real life, I always say, "Korean." but then go into the specifics. Which is kinda weird also, because I don't identify myself more Korean than anything else. But yeah, it came out here, for some reason.

Anyways. I've heard a lot of remixes/parodies of this song, where they insert a city/town in place of Gangnam. Considering this is central Florida, it doesn't fit at all.

My mom is Korean, and my dad is American. But if we're going into heritage, my great (great? Don't remember exactly.) grandparents are Scottish and English.

How 'bout PSY's new song: Gentle Man.
In my humble opinion: "FAIL"
From what I understand, it seems to be a video of him going around being a jerk to everyone in the world etc. etc. etc. :x :!:
What has society come to, Thrift Store, and now this

First, Thrift Shop is pretty dope. It's a counter-culture response to hip hop and rap's excessive indulgence with luxuries, brand labels, and extravagance.

Macklemore puts some meaning into many of his songs. Otherside is another great one.
