I don't think I'll ever get tired of MineCraft Civilization.

On some multiplayer MineCraft servers, cities form, and civilization itself blooms. I was amazed at how quickly this all developed - within four months, a single town gathered fifty residents, a fully self-sufficient farm, barracks, a subway system, and now, underwater colonies.

Not to mention a government.

Maybe this is an anomaly, but I found it curious.

Are these civilizations and communities created by other people? Or are they generated by the server and essentially NPCs?

Now that is kind of cool. :)

Did something similar happen in Second Life? Maybe that could be a trend in these types of online sandbox-style games.
