Need help for making a fun Christian website

Okay. I'm going to come out and say it. I am still learning about making websites; coding, programming, all that good stuff. But I might know enough to make what I'm about to say. *sigh* (Jesus help me. Let this be possible and please give me the strength to finish.)

I WAS THINKING ABOUT MAKING A CHRISTIAN SITE THAT IS ENJOYABLE AND DOES SOME THINGS THAT MOST CHRIST-EMPOWERED SITE DOES NOT DO.

But I need some help. So what will this site have? I'm glad you asked. This site will contain:

- Christian games (Fighting, side-scroller, puzzle, RPG, action-adventure, casual, etc. NO INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT)

- Christian anime (Action-adventure, School Life, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Horror (?), Psychological, etc. NO INAPPROPIATE CONTENT)

- Christian manga (Action-adventure, School Life, Fantasy, etc. NO INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT)

- Reviews for video games(?????)

-Forums, Bible studies, blogs, news, updates, spiritual matters, etc.

The name of this site is call D.O.L. (Done Out of Love). So what benefits will this give to both Christians and non-Christians? Well, for one thing it will be family oriented. However, I notice that there are people who are into the hardcore, so a request for age will be implemented as well. It also makes it easier for Christians to play games and have fun without compromising the Word of God. Also, if you recall....isn't the Ouya coming out soon? A $99 console that is both affordable AND hackable? Christians can play games that we make and watch videos/anime, etc. that we make? Christians with hack experience can help out with this? And this site? Are you seeing it now? One way of describing the purpose of this site is:

"To provide a place (or website in this case) where both Christians who love God/Jesus and non-Christians with morals can have a place to relax and enjoy themselves without sinking low to the point where the line between what is good, bad, and- MOST IMPORTANTLY- what God accepts and does not except is blurred."

D.O.L. will also be linked to this site (Christ Centered Gamer) and to ChristianDevs.com, so those who wish to contribute or want to know us more wii be able to find us. So what do you think? Pretty good idea, huh?

But I can't do this alone. I need help to make this work. So what do you say? Will you join me? I need your help too, CCGR. Can you tell ChristianDevs about this? :D

Whaddaya say?

GOD'S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT. 8) :D

I'm going to say absolutely nothing because I want to see what the others think first.

Sure. I guess I will continue to work on the site until then. Design-wise, I need to think about it. I might have it in my head..........

Let me work on that right now. Now let's see............ :problem:

That's quite ambitious. It helps to get good at one niche at a time and expand than to suck at all of them. This site is known for it's game reviews which have improved in quality over the years. Believe me, it wasn't always this way. But I don't think we would be where we are now if we were spread too thin doing movie and musics reviews too. So I recommend picking one area to focus on and expand from there.

Well, it is mostly an entertainment site, so anime, manga and games (if you can help with that, CCGR) will temporarily be the primary......how shall I say......"cheese"......for the site. I could make games with Flash, but I'm still kinda on animation with it. So if I do decide to make games for it, it may take a while.

If an RSS feed is confusing you, start small. Make a simple html page. Maybe work your way up to a blog.

CCGR, is it possible to use 4shared.com to upload images to this site? That way, people can see the progress for the design?

What do you mean upload it to this site?
Like images in the thread? Those are linked, not hosted here.

Can I still use the img tag with 4shared.com? Because you said to use Dropbox for images. Can I use 4shared, too?

As long as they allow hotlinking (and I'm assuming they do), sure! Try it out!

All right. I'll edit this post so I can show you the image without double posting.

many sites allow you to use rss feeds to add content to your site (may even look like your own content)

In drop box you can make public links to pictures in your dropbox folder

I think I'll just stick with the simple stuff for now. Thanks for the advice, though. :)
