As tip for next time, if people aren't talking about a game in it's own thread, they don't want to talk about it in another game's thread.

It's fun, and Cold Stream just came out, but I don't like it anymore.

It's fun to play with friends, but playing by yourself is a nightmare. The community is worse than World of Warcraft's. People boot you just for a small mistake, like missing a charge.

That's part of why I quit. The learning curve is steep, and people seem to think that you should be a proficient survivor or undead nightmare from the first time you boot it up. VALVe still gets my thumbs-up for game design - I'm interested in game development and design, and Left 4 Dead 2 is a technical masterpiece. I find the Director AI system particularly interesting.

So, then, like, do what everyone else does and play the single player mode first. Or buy it at launch so people don't expect that of you.

Except you get booted for small mistakes. I have 172 hours played on L4D2, so it's not like I played a few games and came to that conclusion. There are a lot of people who go straight into pub games just to bully people and, like snakes, strike at the first opportunity they get at starting a vote kick because winning the game is "srs business".

Or buy it at launch so people don't expect that of you.

this FORUM is about shooters. this THREAD is about L4D2.
