Too harsh. For every misstep Nintendo makes, they do something amazing and unexpected. I think that writer has forgotten that. Nintendo (in various forms) has been around since before ANY of us were born, and will probably be around after we're all gone.

Yeah agreed, :)
also Nintendo's #1 biggest mistake on that list is kinda Sony's doing by announcing the PlayStation before the deal was confirmed.
(Well I don't know, this whole thing was a pretty sad event overall. :( )

I loved the Nintendo 64, it offered some great games. Nintendo has always been a bit slow in the technology department. The games on the other hand, were simply fun and interesting to say the least. If anything, the Nintendo 64 is proof of Nintendo's BIG weakness... lack of great titles. It's similar to what killed the Dreamcast. And despite what people say about the Playstation being better, there were titles for the Dreamcast that the Playstation couldn't hope to approach. I don't think anyone could ever find anything like Phantasy Star Online for the Playstation, and I've owned both systems. Nintendo's second big weakness, they were too family friendly to be of any good, and in a way... this has alot to do with my previous argument.

I agree with the first 2. Virtual Boy was stupid, and the n64 suffered with a lot of problems due to the cartridges. Can't tell you how many times my saves were deleted. I don't see the hate when it comes to the Gamecube. As for number 4, I disagree. I hope this doesn't sound fanboyish, but I enjoy playing Nintendo games because there is no online. Also, the Nintendo community is much more mature because of it.

I agree on the final one. Seriously, Nintendo got screwed over big time from that disagreement.

Being the first to implement touch screen, motion controls and 3D without glasses makes them slow in the technology department? They only just set themselves back with the Wii because of the old hardware. Other than that and online, Nintendo is pretty ahead of it's competitors and they always offer something new with every console that comes out.

Ahead of the competition with technology maybe, but only until others find out how to do it better

True. The Playstation Move works much better than the Wiimote from what I hear. I just get annoyed when people say Nintendo is behind, even though Nintendo has usually been the first to innovate.

Mmm...I loved the Cube. The discs were the odd mini-disc thingums to prevent piracy, which actually worked until someone hacked the Cube and used it to read the discs. So as far as that goes, no complaints. Better than other methods used.

In fact, aside from the Virtual Boy, I pretty much disagree with that entire list. Sure, cartridges have their issues, but I've never dropped a cartridge and scratched it beyond usability. *glares at easily scratched PS1 discs*

So I think this list is POO. >_>

yes...because they weren't the first to use said technologies. :P

To be fair, I think Nintendo's biggest problem has been that they are trying to move in a direction that the industry doesn't want to go. And not in a bad way at all.

This guy (Who's video I cannot post due to language) made a video about this topic, and he said that the real problem is that people are so obsessed with flashy graphics that they are hampering development in other directions. They don't want touch screens, they want to be able to see the blood and esecrated corpse of the enemy they just killed in Call of Halo: The Killzone Resistance in HD 2560x1440, dangit! :P

Obviously, that was hyperbole for effect.

But yeah, I like the way Nintendo moves forward, I just find that they've got too many bad games. And the industry just wants the flashiest effects ever, so of course other innovations are going to be trodden down.

They ARE slow technologically! Anyone else find themselves having to resynch their wiimotes every few weeks? Man, what a chore! I never find myself needing to resynch any of my other console controls, Nintendo seems to be the only exception as of recent. My one hope for the new Nintendo Siren, that they fix this problem. And I will admit, that touch screens and 3D screens ARE nice, it isn't as useful and I find myself with the opiton off most of the time when I've had a 3DS to play with.

When I say "slow technilogically", I mean that when they do invent a new piece of tech, they SOMETIMES gimick it to death without making it as useful as it should be.

Actually, unless I've used them with another console, I don't think I've ever had to resync my Wiimore. Not even when changing batteries. I have that problem with my 360 more. I cannot turn my console on using the controller, but rather have to hit the button.

I think of Nintendo as I do the game developer Obsidian. They tend to come up with ALOT of ideas that are simply great, but... tend to fall short in one way or another.

I KNOW RIGHT. It felt like the universe in your hands. I'll just never understand what was so bad about the GameCube. I always loved my PS2 more, but I never would have willingly parted with my Cube. :'(
