Why do people drive on a parkway and park in a driveway?
Why is stuff sent by sea called cargo, but if it's sent by land it's a shipment?
Why are there Interstate highways in Hawaii?
Why do drive-through ATMs have braille keypads?

Why does man knowingly commit acts that would bring about his own destruction, in an attempt at achieving life?

Nope, pretty sure Jester's on to something deep. I think we all do that a way. Changing ourselves to what others see as attractive. It's a vicious cycle, and I've yet to meet someone who doesn't adhere to it in someway.
'Cept Jesus, you know.

I dunno Phe, on one hand, I've done it, I'll admit...but i think there comes a point where everyone gets over that.
Like now? Tons of people can't stand me. So as far as I care, if someone laughs that I read poetry, or whines that I swear like a sailor and smoke and drink like one too, or preaches to me because I carry or because I wear black and leather...that's fine. They can go screw themselves. I don't care.

How does that prove anything other than you're an emo kid?
I jest. But actually, I disagree. Somewhat. If you're talking about changing ourselves for the people we love then meh. That's not so bad. But if you're talking about all the kids wearing trench coats and makeup? Hardly. I've cared what others thought about me, but not to fit into the group. Not when I aged past 13 (last year).
