It's legit all right; the expansion has it's own section on the WoW site and the Panderan allready have their racials. The WoW forums are overwhelmed with Panda and Pokemon hate. Still I don't mind.

It's the other way around actually, Kung-fu panda was released in 2008 but the pandaren have "existed" in the warcraft universe since Warcraft 3 which was is 2002 and some of them were playable in Warcraft 3: the frozen throne in 2003. So, pandaren came at least 5 years before Po. Most of the WOW players also kind of knew that the Pandaren would be part of an expansion in the future.
