Depends on the hero. In Zelda, Link should stay voiceless. What's he going to say? Whine about how he has to run around the entire planet? Or maybe deliver a powerful "I will now complete this meaningless puzzle to open that door!" XD

In RPG's, I can go either way. I like Chrono Trigger, but like KOTOR and FFIV too.
