I actually like this album a lot. I never saw myself getting into Megadeth, but this album wins my favor.

Repo! The Genetic Opera - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

I liked the movie, so I grabbed the soundtrack. I love the soundtrack. It's so epic.

Buffy fans should be pleased to know that Anthony Head (Giles) is a star in it, and he is awesome in the film and on the soundtrack.

Like it a lot so far. Nothing has exploded out at me yet...but that doesn't happen immediately.

Such a great album.

'The New Year' seems rather fitting.

I really want to like these guys... but I'm extremely underwhelmed by this album. Corgan's vocals are just awful... I can only stand to listen to a couple songs at a time because of that. It's just... I don't know. I'm not impressed... at all.

Not gonna get flamed there, Strider.

The Smashing Pumpkins are pretty much a matter of taste; Corgan's vocals really haven't evolved that much over the years, and you either hate them or you don't.

Corgan's got a caterwaul, there's no doubt about it. ;)

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

Yeah, what Drew said.

If you want a better way to experience the Pumpkins, try their greatest hits album.

Should give you an overall indicator of whether or not you like anything the band has done.

Speaking of them, I'm listening to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

Such a good album, but it's definitely more of a die-hard fans album.

Grrrr.... I understand what you're saying about not liking Corgan's voice (I adore it, but so many of my friends feel the opposite way), but just looking from a composition standpoint alone, this album is one of the most brilliant of the 90s. The first 6 songs on the album are the best 6 song stretch I've heard on an album. But it's just a matter of taste, I suppose...

Fleet Foxes? Win.

Listening to Elliott Smith's From a Basement on the Hill. I usually don't dig incomplete albums (like Jeff Buckley's), but this is just utterly fantastic. Coast to Coast is one of my favorite opening tracks of all time, and King's Crossing really puts Smith's suicide into perspective. Sad stuff.
I'm all pretensions... I never pay attention
