Stephen carefully moved to the other side of the doorway and peered around it, pistol at a low ready.
He hoped he wasn't pinned between hostiles on both sides, but he figured the odds of his friends making it to the door were good enough to risk watching his flanks.

It's a good thing it hasn't come to blows between Kratimos and Guy, or I'd get creamed rolling like this...))

Luke deftly ran across the loose gravel to the door, but Chris' feet did not find such a sure footing. Frequent slips slow him down. It's like a bad dream. His legs begin to feel like rubber as fear takes him. He can feel them close.
Things are not looking so good. Here's hoping Conner rock cover fire keeps the horde back enough to get him to safety.

Jack saw both Chris and Luke coming, but Chris appears to be having trouble. Jack then saw Conner throwing the rubble he collected earlier to keep the zombies at bay. Ah, right. Jack opened his backpack and got piece of rubble and prepared to throw it at the zombie closest Chris just in case Conner misses, he also set out an another piece of rubble for Luke just in case.
Jack then threw his rubble!

Which is hurt worse? The ego or the body? Who knows... perhaps what's important is getting the frak away from the zombies. Chris watches the rocks sail overhead, regretting every single Pepsi he's had to drink in the last 20 years as he drags himself back to his feet to do the best impression of a sprint he possibly can.

((Smashing Roll, Chozon!
Arctic, you're doing better.
Keeping working.
))
A torn and bony hand reached out and grabbed Chris' foot as he scrambled across the dust and rubble laden ground. It's vise grip was strong and pulled Chris back, his leg sliding out and his body hitting the ground. Chris tried to kick his way out, but no avail. The grip was too strong and the mad man showed no concern for pain. He pulled himself closer and a shattered jaw moved in for a bite.
The moment slowed down for Chris. He braced himself for the agony of tearing flesh, hearing what he thinks might be the last words he'd ever hear... "MOOOOOOOOONNNNKEEEEY THIIIIISSSSSSS YOU HAAAIAIIIIRRRRYYY FFRREEEEEAAAAAKKKKSSSSS...," only to be awoken by the whoosh of something flying overhead. Chris opens his eyes just in time to see a cement chunk lodge itself straight into the open maw of his assailant and tear the whole bloody head right off. From his peripheral vision, he couldn't quite make it out whether or not Conner was doing a victory dance.
The grip loosed and with one final kick, Chris was free and back with the group at the door.

Chris rejoins his buddies, and gives Conner a great big bear hug for the save.
"So... I have this radio. Maybe we can get some more info once we find a safer spot..."

((That is an awesome roll, and the timing of it too.))
That was amazing, I'm definitely buying that guy an orange when I get the chance! Jack thought as he put away the extra rubble he set out. He then turned around and picked up the card key that Stephen left behind, and used it on the door. "I bet we may be able to use it on the other side of this door after everyone gets through." Jack said as he went on through to check on Stephen and the next area. The area seemed clear, but when Jack found Stephen by a doorway with his pistol ready, he got yet another uneasy feeling. "Stephen, What's going on over here?" Jack quietly asked before he took a quick scan of the area.

((That...was a glorious scene. XD))
Conner took no time--well, maybe a few seconds--to exult at his lucky throw, then, after scooping up rubble to replace the thrown ones, headed over and through the security door.
He felt safe until he noticed the concerned look on Jack's face and the twitchy brow over Stephen' left eye.
((Do I need to roll to replace the rubble, or is that just a given?))
