Sure. It'll take a moment for me to get there, though. Gotta load up the game and all.Pheonix wrote:Your on.

Nice going.
Ugh. The lag... hurts. I don't know how you play so well with the lag as it is.
Then again... with the ocean between us... that wasn't all that terrible.

Eh. I recently switched ISPs... and haven't really optimized my router's settings since then. I think I'll pick up the LAN adapter eventually (in hope of a better connection)... but I'm still guessing it won't be perfect (actually... back when I was working on getting Atari to fix DBZ:BT3's online play... I bought the adapter... and found no change based on the speedtests I did).
Alas.
Alas.

The USB connector works pretty well, and it's easy to set up and run. You could probably find it cheap, it works on Vista, and unless you have Zone alarm like we used to it'll run pretty smoothly from any USB port. ^_^

Well MKW runs perfectly online. No hint of lag. And you can get 12 people playing. I'm not sure if it's Brawl's servers or just a really detailed game that isn't converted very well.

The biggest issue is the game code. Brawl's code is pretty solid (infinitely better than DBZ:BT3's)... but fighting games are so fast and technical... with no real way to predict movements... that lag shows up more than in other games... and can be a bit more damaging. MKW, for example, has amazingly good code for making predictions about what players are going to do (yay for physics!)... so whether or not the connection is ideal... visible lag is pretty rare.Pheonix wrote:Well MKW runs perfectly online. Fighting games are, so far as I know, the hardest games to have an amazing online experience with because of the unpredictable nature of players and the need for extremely fast responses.
As for my wireless... it works just fine. No reason to switch over to Nintendo's USB Wi-Fi dongle thingem. Switching over to a wired connection for the Wii could see some improvement... but I'm fairly confident the wireless is maxing out the internet load, anyway. The lag increase due to wireless over wired is really minimal... and not enough to make a significant difference. Buuuut... because I can be a bit hardcore (and more and more online games are coming to the Wii)... I might pick up the LAN adapter just because. XD

Garth Brooks.
I was going to write out something fancy, but that's all I came up with.
