Hard to say. Maybe excessive process? Process is always there, while some of the politics you can ignore, and if you're good enough, you can Littlefinger your way around them.
It needs to be medium-to-top notch. Neuroanatomy, man. At least in our patient care class, we get to play around with electrodes (e-stim, TENS, and the like). This? THIS? This class is the confirmation that neuro-PT is something that will always fascinate me and that I will always appreciate--from a distance. A long, long distance.
Single malt scotch, man. Glenlivet 12 year is a great starter (go older if you want to spend more for a little more matured flavor). Glenmorangie and Glenfiddich, are good, too. If you want a really smokey, peaty scotch (not for first timers, though. I don't know how much scotch you've had), Laphroaig is good.
What do you think of the recent trend of using concentrated forms of hops instead of whole or pellet hops?
I'm still waiting for Sweetwaters Hop Hash DIPA (seriously these guys are a bunch of stoners) to wander down from Atlanta, and Sierra Nevada is apparently releasing an IPA made with distilled hop oil. Kinda interesting but I don't know how it'll turn out.

Oh! Wow, I should check what beers use a concentrate.
Um, yes and no. In stores, there's almost always a good selection of craft beers. My local grocery stores generally have what I'd like, and a couple extra to try. Same with liquor stores. If I wanted more, a stop at my local BevMo will fix that right up.
At bars, some will have only cheap mass stuff, but you can also find a nice tap selection. There are some that just rock out with good beers, like Yardhouse with their 100+ craft selection.
But for breweries, very disappointing. I don't have one brewery in the bay area that I think is good. Oregon is full of amazing brewpubs. At best, they're good on food and mediocre/sup-par on beer. At least in my regard.
We need a good brewery here.
Up a little north, sort of north-bay where I used to live, we had some great ones. Lagunitas, Bear Republic, Russian River, Moylans...
I have enough access to good beers to have established my preferences, but as far as trying new things (Stone Brewings stuff, Hop Stoopid, etc) it's a minimum half hour drive.

Not good. 0 words right now. Been busy so far. Also, I feel like I had a bit of paralysis involving setting the plot in October, but I think at least now I have something to go on.
