Depends on where you buy them from. Most retailers make sure the CDs are in good condition and guarantee the quality anyway. At Hastings, I and several of my coworkers are incredibly strict when it comes to taking CDs from sellers. As a result, a vast majority of the used CDs are in very good condition.

I just bought Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips. And it was in near perfect condition :)

I bought a real hard copy of The Black Key's 'Brothers.'

I would tell you it's amazing, but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Why? Because I bought a hard copy. And I have no CD player. Or computer.
