BECAUSE, WELL. I beat it a couple months ago but I was just thinking about the ending scene but I'm not gonna spoil it for you if you haven't played through it.

Is it just me or is everything New Belgium brews fall into the realm of stunningly adequate?

Like if it's all that's around, I won't turn down a Fat Tire or Ranger, but if I buy any it's for sharing.

Oh and since cider came up earlier, I grabbed a couple sixes of Woodchuck Hopsation when I went fishing tonight. Did not realize just how alcoholic the stuff was, and it was real easy drinking, so I ended up having to sit and fish till 11 just so I could sober up

Definitely. I actually think the newer ones have better, more thought provoking writing than the older ones. Like a reverse Twilight Zone.

Just know that AC3 maaaay let you down.So many bugs.

4 redeems the franchise, IMO. Story isn't perfect but the ending makes you feel your own feelings!

Haha, their Ranger IPA is... not bad. Lol, Yeah. Adequate. Drinkable, but nothing to write home about.

I've been thinking, and it strikes me that the resume as we know it is a very outdated way to approach things. Would it not be easier for both applicants and recruiters to have a kind of hypertext resume? Think about it: a resume format that allows for "tagging" of skills (such as programming languages, teaching, writing, interests: anything!), allowing the applicant to chose what tags on their resume are to show up in a search. Recruiters can simply search based on what the applicants have tagged to widen their potential candidates or narrow the pool. This doesn't preclude lying or misidentifying skills, of course, but that's an issue with today's resumes with keyword searches anyway.

But then I hit the realization: this is essentially what LinkedIn does already, though based around a social network instead of a document. Ah well. As always, my ideas aren't original.

Resumes are alright in the ways that interviews are alright. They do the job... well...ish.
Like, with technical interviews: they do a decent job weeding out some of the less competent applicants, but at the same time, they are terribly great at selecting for the best candidates, as Google, king of technical interviews, began finding out. With my recent experiences conducting interviews, it's becoming even more clear we really don't have a good method of selecting candidates. It's more of an art than anything.

Now, if there is anything an engineer isn't happy with, it's leaving a problem to art.

My best friend has been in the hiring industry for probably 10 years now, and this is something we talk about frequently enough. This is a huge issue, and a lot of benefit from improving our systems. Don't even know what to talk about. Take cues from marketing practices. Developing a system to gather data for both hires and rejects. Improved interview processes.

Favorite cities in the Bay Area?

Might want to say San Jose, because I live there. A little hard to say as they mostly just run into each other. As downtowns go, Los Gatos, Campbell, Mountain View, and Palo Alto are pretty nice. A lot of people will point to San Francisco, but it's not huge for me personally. Up in the north bay, I liked Santa Rosa. Lived there for about a year and a half. Wine country, and a lot of good food. Well, it's a little far, maybe, to be considered Bay Area, but still.
