A Day No Pigs Would Die - Robert Peck

Yay for assigned reading!

It is a good book, though. Which surprises me.

Some of y'all should pick it up

lol I assume that people are actually reading. I just like to hear about what others are reading. It's the lack of posts, not an assumed lack of reading, that made me sad.

Just to set that straight. ;)

The Annotated C++ Reference Manual, by Magaret A. Ellis and Bjarne Stroustrup.

Yes I'm a geek.

Also reading Follow me To Freedom by Shane Claiborn and John Perkins. Only because it's required. Otherwise I'd have dropped it, it's as boring as heck.

Just finished (finally) Under the Dome by Stephen King. I was pretty disappointed with it.

Also knocked out The Mysteries of Pittsburgh by Michael Chabon this week. Killed it in like two days... and it was absolutely engrossing.

Just starting The Enchantress of Florence by Salman Rushdie. Very good so far.

Currently reading Follow Me To Freedom, still. I haaaatttteeeee this book, not because of the content, but because it's presented like a transcript of a podcast or something. I'll take an audio book, thanks.

Also picked up Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It's great, disturbing, and at times uncontrollably funny. "Your Fordship," "In the year of our Ford..." "Oh Ford," etc. Those....crack me up. XD

I finished The Strain a couple of nights ago. Not too impressed, honestly. Lots of potential, but it was rarely as thrilling as it could have (and I would say should have) been.

I blame the fact that it's part of a trilogy for this. So much of the book ended up being setup... and never getting into the meat of the thing.

Why does everyone feel the need to do things in trilogies? Bah.

And now... I'm starting up Alara Unbroken by Doug Beyer. It's set in the lore of Magic: The Gathering's Alara expansion block. So far, so good. Nothing mindblowing, but I'm only a dozen-ish pages in.

I last read Getting the Girl by Markus Zusak. It's not near on the same emotional level as his other works that I've read, but it still moves in his trademark style and I quite enjoyed it.

Finished I Am Not A Serial Killer and Mr. Monster by Dan Wells. It's a series about a sociopathic high school student who kills demons.

So, I read the entire I, Robot book in the library today. And picked up the first three books in the Foundation trilogy.

I love Asimov. <3

Ew. Ted Dekker.

...

I just started Darkness, Take My Hand by Dennis Lehane.

Like literally just started. It's probably typical Lehane mystery... which is not a bad thing.
