I'm not sure why reading Twilight would call for claims of manliness. Are you insecure? >_>

:D

Wheel of Time: Book #4: The Shadow Rising.

Good books.

People who don't like these books need to be sent to a mental institute.

Books are better than the movies. Not the greatest book ever, and even being in the presence of Tolkien would set them afire. It's...odd. You can read the emotion on the pages, which is uncomfortable. It's as though someone wrote their longing into the book.

I feel like saying something smart here, like how it tries to revive moral-ish romance, or that it explains the wish for every lady to have a protector (not even sure that's true), but really, it was a teen romance book.

Interesting story though.

Haha, same here. I just finished The Gunslinger. It was pretty good, if not a bit....vague at times. (Seemed a little light for King)

On the subject of Twilight, I finished the series. I understand the criticisms, but I didn't think it was all that bad. Melodramatic at times? Of course. Stupid at times? Yep. But that doesn't take away from the fact that the book was fun to read, even if it's nowhere near the same level as something like Harry Potter.

So I'm reading the second Dark Tower book, and I also read The Lighting Thief. The book is many times better than the movie. XD

Also reading Sea of Monsters.

Albert Camus' The Myth of Sisyphus and Other Essays, Soren Kierkegaard's The Sickness Unto Death, and Mao Zedong's Guerrilla Warfare.

...

Yeah, the guy at the B&N checkout counter stared at me a bit XD.

Nobody else readin'? Sad day!

I copped a bunch of books from the library, but I'm presently reading through, and loving, The Art of Learning by Josh Waitzkin. Very introspective and autobiographical thus far, but it's really interesting, too. I approve.

Lack of other posts makes me saaaaaaaad. :(

I just finished The Art of Learning. Phenomenal book overall and absolutely recommended. Period.

Also, I got, among other things, Del Toro's The Strain today. Vampire apocalypse... by Del Toro... need I say more? Didn't think so.
