Markus Zusak, an Australian author. I had already previously randomly picked up I Am the Messenger off the library bookshelf, and it easily became one of my favorite books. So it's needless to say, that once I saw this in a Thai bookstore, there was no way I was walking out without it, especially since it's supposed to be a whole lot better.

I picked up:

Wastelands - various authors - GET HYPE for postapocalyptic short stories written by many of the best authors of the day
Interesting Times - Terry Pratchett - So far, I love Pratchett
City of Torment - Bruce Cordell - a Forgotten Realms book; not the one I wanted, but I decided to give him a shot in a different book

Empire - Orson Scott Card - The one book that the other library didn't have in stock that I wanted; can't express my hype to read this (hype increased by the fact that it's the inspiration for the story of Shadow Complex)

Wastelands

I only got to read the first story today (oddly enough, on account of reviewing Shadow Complex), but it was good.

Specifically, I read Stephen King's "The End of the Whole Mess." I love the way it was written. I was laughing (as intended) for much of it. Then as the way that the end of the world came about was presented, I found it quite chilling.

However, I take issue with the way the end of the world comes about. It just doesn't seem logically consistent (unless if you infer something that is not in the text at all... and may even be countered within the text).

Im reading Green by ted dekker. Good so far.

Empire

I just finished the second chapter of the book, and I'm already being blown away. It's so good. Sooooo gooooooood. We'll see what follows.

Update: Read a hundred pages of it today... which is actually a lot for me. It's good.

My library has neither Wastelands or Empire. This is highly disappointing.

I'm reading Stardust at the moment, and I'm really enjoying it. Gaiman managed to create an original story within the fantasy realm, which God knows is a hard thing to do. I respect him already for that.
