I really enjoy the sport though, it keeps me glued to the TV. I just wish I had more knowledge about the game and the players, you know?
Well my advice is to just start watching come next season, and from there you'll probably gradually have more enthusiasm and interest for the game. Take me for example, I started watching the NBA a few years back and a spark of interest in the sport soon turned into a love for it. Oh yeah, and it's also ideal to have a team of your preference, because it only adds to the fun. Doesn't necessarily have to be Toronto in your case; it can be any team you choose. Make sure it's a team you'll have faith in and will not leave no matter what; otherwise you'd be called a bandwagoner! I ain't sayin' bandwagoners are bad, but.... ANYWAY, in terms of knowledge of the sport, again, just keep watching. It's a better alternative to looking up the rule book online. If you say, "hey, I wonder why the ref blew the whistle, seemed alright to me", It'l come to you through spectating many games.
I'm not a big fan of hockey, so I can't tell you much of the regulations; all I know is that those players, they do like to fight.
There's my advice; I know all of this from experience.
So is it just hockey?

Right now, yes. I'm also really interested in Basketball. I used to play it a lot when I was growing up, but I never played on a team or anything like that because my parents wanted me home by 4, and practice was right after school.
Also, thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to watch next season, and hopefully find a team I will learn to love, without being a bandwagoner.

Do you still play? Don't let the fact that you didn't play team ball stop you from continuing bro. If you want to compete there's still a chance; there's bound to be some men's leagues down there. If I were you, I'd probably start looking for some leagues via local rec-centers or searching online. If you're not into that then definitely just going to a nearby court and shooting around is also good. Regardless, it's a fun sport.
I'll definitely be joining a local men's league if I don't make it to college ball.

Well, in grade 3, our class had to make one of our own during Easter to go egg hunting and such.

Right now I really enjoy NBA 2K12. Never been obsessed with a game this much since I got my first fps.
I'm a Laker fan.

Ahh. Sorry for the late reply.
I stopped playing around the age of 16. I played a lot in public school, and during High school I played a lot during gym class and I'd shoot some hoops on my driveway or down in the park. However, since then, I sort of lost interest because there are so many times you can throw a ball into a hoop until you get bored.
I hope I didn't lose my skill. Maybe I should go back out tomorrow or some other day and shoot a few hoops. Gut is starting to get bigger anyways.
Your sports history?

It's like debating on whether or not you should go back to your N64 and start playing Ocarina again. You're not sure if you should do it, yet you find yourself being addicted all over again five minutes later.
NOTE: if you do decide to make your return to the court, and a random person asks you to go 1v1, do not, sir, do not back down.

Try-hard ball player since my dad introduced me to the sport.
As you may have have already realized, I'm very pro-sport. If I'm to make a mark on this forum, it'd probably be sports-related.

Yeah.
Stayin' up till the moose come home.
Btw, if you're into the NBA, right now would be a great time to watch. You've got the two (possibly) greatest players going head to head in the finals. Don't know bout you, but watching the top players kinda motivates me to get better. A guy can dream.
