Would you rather be woken up by nature's alarm clock or man's alarm clock?

I really adore the gameplay in the Souls games. The story itself is usually obfuscated, and the "depressing" stuff is most easily gleaned from the atmosphere.
I guess if it's not your cup of tea, that's one thing, but man, if you ever find a cheap copy of Dark Soul II: Scholar of the First Sin for PS4, consider trying it out. In my opinion it's more accessible than Dark Souls I or Demon's Souls, and it's available on PS4 (Demon's Souls is only on PS3, Dark Souls I is on PC, 360, and PS3, and both run terribly regardless of system). Dark Souls III, I have not played. Bloodborne probably has the easiest death penalty of all of them, but it makes up for that by having no real blocking mechanic, and forcing you to take great risks to parry. It also allows you to regain lost health for a short window if you hit an enemy. Bloodborne encourages aggression, Dark Souls encourages patience.
I may have shown you this song already...

Depends...are we talking 'coffee cup' thing, or 'The Thing' thing? Because the former is...well, no. I get enough of my face in the mirror everyday. As a kid, I'd actually forget what I looked like, and always imagined myself as looking cooler then I did...until I walked by a mirror.micah211 wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2017 11:54 am Ever want to see a normal everyday thing with your face on it?

Surprisingly, I can't actually think of an everyday object that I want my face on. Drawing a total blank. Not even an inappropriate, self deprecating one.
My book, maybe. One of those nice headshots on the back cover. Yeah, I would love that actually. A book.
Or a plasma ball. If I could get my face inside of a plasma ball, so it looked like I was a wizard, I would probably pay good money for it.
Depends on which alarm nature uses.JesusIsLord713 wrote: Would you rather be woken up by nature's alarm clock or man's alarm clock?

Probably man's alarm clock. Sunlight doesn't wake me up, storms rarely wake me up, and we don't have any roosters.
Unless you mean my own internal clock; in which case, I choose that 100%. ^_^
Oh, I definitely want to try it, and it's so much my cup of tea that it's sweet and iced. I just tend to avoid games with nudity and/or extreme violence, and so have not played the series.Deepfreeze32 wrote: I really adore the gameplay in the Souls games. The song was interesting. Good, but I guess it's not really something I'd call excellent? Dude's got a great voice, and the musical work is good, but it never...it felt like it was reaching very high, but never really hit the heights that I wanted it to.
The lyrics also didn't really tell an epic story, like I would expect/want from a song that length. I looked up the lyrics and read them a few times, and even checked Youtube comments (where everyone was blown away)...I think I missed something.

About the Souls series: I don't think it has particularly extreme violence (Ok, Bloodborne is very violent, but Dark Souls II, for example, is about as violent as a standard medieval action game). I guess if you've never seen the gameplay, look up some from each of the games. Dark Souls II is considered the black sheep of the family, but I prefer it to the first game. >_> I also think the game is a little less overtly grimdark (The lore definitely is, but the lore is hidden away in item descriptions and NPC conversations, and is obscured to the point of requiring lots of thought to figure out), and the violence, for the most part, feels like pretty standard medieval fare. I guess what I'm saying is, look at all of them, then decide if one of them suits you, because the games can really be played independently of each other.
About the song: I enjoy it, but yeah, it's not really the best song they've ever made. It's from their third album, and it lifts excerpts from classical pieces (Mass in B Minor by Bach being the most prominent). I like it, but you are not alone for thinking it's a bit empty. XD

I like this rule, I think. Even if it would be a bit concerting...you should try out your evil overlord powers and see if you can mind control those people wearing them. It's cool. I had not heard of it, and I don't really play racing games...but I like it. XD
It's more the nudity which throws me off of II. I actually got very excited years ago when I saw the T-rating until I looked it up. Mine is usually busted. I think it's because I eat too much cheese and pork.
<_<
>_>
I tend to be fairly quiet about my belief's actually. IRL, any way. As such, I usually avoid deeper conversations, or nod and smile when they come up. It's less that I'm unwilling to take a stand, more that I'm unwilling to get into a fight when I could just listen.

The only nudity I recall in Dark Souls II is one or two bosses, and you're more worried about "HOLY SMOKES, PLEASE DON'T KILL MEEEEEE" than anything else because she's lightning-fast and deals nasty damage (Really, almost every boss is like that). XD I actually had to look up what you were talking about because I was so into the fight I legit didn't notice. lol
So this next song comes with a bit of interesting backstory. When Persona 3 became a hit, Atlus licensed Persona concepts to Aniplex, who produced a "Sequel" anime, Persona: Trinity Soul. However, most fans consider this non-canon, because it seriously contradicts the rules of the Persona universe laid out in later Persona games. It's also slow, and just not all that good.
HOWEVER.
That does not extend to the music. This one starts slow, but give it time.

Once, I dreamed I could turn into a dragon at will; I was the guardian of a small mountain village that looked startlingly like a real version of Van Gogh's Starry Night, but I still lived in my house. Wouldn't mind if that was real. I'd love it, actually.micah211 wrote: Fri Apr 28, 2017 12:00 pm I'm definitely trying that once they get here.

Yesterday, I dreamed I was climbing a mountain with a dude that looked oddly like Thor. Only, five minutes before I was supposed to leave, I realized to my horror I had only packed shirts. No toiletries, food...nothing. Just clothes. O_o And this was going to be a long hike: I started frantically packing anti-rash medicine and then got dragged into a painfully long road trip which, for whatever reason, I actually dreamed.
I didn't just magically reach the mountain. I drove in a hot SUV for several hours until somebody stole it, leaving me stranded in the forest with shirts and useless medicinal products. I don't know who stole it; it just disappeared.
Why I couldn't fast travel...regardless, I reached the mountain...and woke up. And I was OK with that, because I was already tired and starting to develop a nasty diaper rash, and Thor was no help at all, really. It was incredibly realistic though.
My point is that it's more often I'm glad my realistic dreams aren't real. XD
I shall think about it. I've always wanted to tackle the series. I love hard games. Yeah, I think it ends a bit too soon as well. In the anime, it's used during fights with a group called Marebito (Which translates to Outsider, or Outcast, depending on context).

You do the thing badly, and redo it later.
I have found that it is better for me to get my foot into the door and at least wedge it there if nothing else. I spend too much of my time waiting for the matrix like moment of perfection that would allow me to complete a task effortlessly and have it done perfectly.
Like today: I rearranged bookshelves. I wasn't going to, because it's Saturday and I'm lazy, but I was pushed into it by circumstance. The correct way to do things would have required a ridiculously long sequence of events that I would still be working on now. Remove contents of shelf X---no. Remove contents of shelf Y, replace with shelf Z, remove shelf X and replace with shelf X, take contents of shelf Z and transfer them between X and Y, move cube 1 in place of Shelf Y...and so on.
So I did it the easy way, which was to take the offending bookshelf as my own, and give out my bookshelf for the smaller space where it will fit better.
And it turned out, in the end, that the imperfect way was far better than the chain reaction that the 'perfect' way would have entailed. Plus, I have more room for my trash.
Of course, that said, when I'm tired I don't even try to write because I don't want to suffer the heart punch of erasing two hours worth of work. O_o

Hmm. My problem is one of sheer inability to focus on getting started. I can't even do it badly because I'm like "But...where...do I begin?"
So this music video is very weird, but I really like the music.

When I wrote that question my dream before was weirdly real, but crazy.
I should've asked, have you had any dreams you thought were real, as that would make more sense.
But in that dream I was on a strike team sent to eliminate some terrorists that operated inside of a Target... We killed 4 of the 6 but the last 2 were invincible and we had to run. Then I became the fastest man alive bolting out of there into a car that I couldn't raise my seat in.

On the one hand, it's a sad commentary on the place of alcohol and alcoholism in western culture. It's actually depressing, because I not only know that people think that way...I know people that think in that way.
The video was also just weird sauce.
So as much as I enjoyed the music for being piraty and awesome...I didn't actually like it. Seen too many people's lives screwed up by alcohol to enjoy the 'partying' spirit.
Which is strange, because usually the moment you add action-bubble combat effects to something I am 100% in.
I thought my dream was real too. XD That's why I was packing anti-rash stuff and got so horrified at the thought that I had forgotten to pack anything but shirts. XDmicah211 wrote: When I wrote that question my dream before was weirdly real, but crazy.

Actually, it seems like I have a lot of dreams that feel like real life. But's it's never cool things like hunting terrorists...I usually dream I'm working at Wal-Mart. -_- Stocking shelves or something all night. Then I wake up in terror and praise God that it isn't real. XD
Man...that makes my imagination seem really pathetic. Stocking shelves all night. XD
