When going to work is among the most depressing things you can do? I'm up for performance reviews, and that means it'll be all anxiety and panic all the time...

Looks cool. Also feels like development has stalled, though that's not certain.

Some games just sorta spring forth out of nowhere.

It's as if someone managed to insert a smaller black hole inside of a regular black hole, inside of election season, and filled it soul-sucking leeches.

What's almost worse is the 'get-over-it-kid-that's-life' attitude you get from most people about it.

Maybe you should get over the sore shin I'm about to give, eh Captain Sympathetic?

I mean, yes, I know life isn't supposed to be all sunshine and rainbows but there has got to be a more fulfilling way to live than this. I really detest that attitude when it's used to shut down the conversation. Like...ugh.

I've been tossing around a new story idea that I'm really liking (A sort of victorian-era lost world story mixed with a healthy dose of mysterious magic), but I just don't have the focus to actually sit down and do that.

So on that note:

When you really need to focus on something but your mind is refusing to do so?

I'd read it.

That honestly seems like every day with me. But I know there are rare days where my mind actually sits down, puts on glasses, and is ready to work. Most of the time, it's like I have disco balls constantly rotating in my head.

I'm like, "OK brain. Get ready; we're going to solve this problem. We're going to think this through. If you could...are you listening to me?"

"I LIKE PIE"

"Yes. Yes we do. I might make one later. But I really need to figure this out. What--"

"I SEE SOMETHING SHINY IT SMELLS LIKE WATERFALLS"

"What? What happened to the pie? Look, can you just focus for a minute?"

"ON PIE? YASE."

"It's just a quick decision; a normal person would have made it twenty minutes ago without overthinking, and we could have gotten so much stuff done today."

"THERE'S A SONG IN THAT LET ME SING IT FOR YOU"

"I quit. We'll flip a coin and hope for something other than critical failure. Where's that pie?"

That is my life. I've found that the only ways to achieve focus when it doesn't come naturally (It comes maybe 1/3rd of the time, tops) is to either load up on caffeine (Which only lasts for a few hours and has a brutal crash afterwards), or be under intense pressure (which, if sustained, leads to anxiety and depression). Sometimes having music or a video in the background can help, but that depends on whether or not my brain wants to focus on that instead. Oh yeah, and I fidget way too much and have been told many times "Stop shaking your leg!" It's like "I'm sorry! I'm trying to burn off my nervous energy!"

And the sad part? I wrote this bit right here before finishing that part up there because my brain was like "LET'S GO TO YOUTUBE!" and then I lost my train of thought. I think I might have one of those forms of ADHD. XD

Which is worse: anxiety borne of depression, or depression borne of anxiety?

Caffeine only affects me in a general way now. I can drink an entire 2-liter of soda, or half a pot of coffee, and it just puts me into a semi-alert state. :P Mountain Dew Voltage, on the other hand, gives me the fidgets and jitters. I think it's the addition of Ginseng...I love that stuff. I want to buy it by the gallon. Even my mom was like, "Wow. What's in that mountain dew?" XD

The're both equally terrible. I think anxiety and depression are two hands of the same monster. Depression is the pre-coffee, "I don't want to get out of bed or live today" side, and anxiety is the "I've had my joe. I've got one hand around your heart, and I see everything; what can I stick my fingers in today?" side.

It feels so weird that I've finally joined the PC community. Everybody has a mic!!!

X-One controllers or PS4 controllers?

When a boss has so many phases that you're like "JUST DIE ALREADY!"?

Awesome. ^_^ I am happy for you. XD Which compy did you end up going with? Or did you build your own?

They're almost exactly the same, so I can't say I favor one over the other actually. The thumbstick offset on the Xbox controller seems to be easier on the left hand, for comforts sake. Yet the D-pad on--mind, the last M$ controller I've used a bunch was 360--the Xbox controllers feels odd; like it stretches my thumb in a weird way to reach it. The PS4 thumbsticks don't feel that way, but it may just be because of the way I position my hand.

I also like the touchpad on PS4 controllers; it's basically useless, but it's cool tech. XD

Only a problem when you're out of health-restoration items, or really have to potty.

KHII's final boss had like...I don't know. Four or five phases? And I had a bladder stretched to its bursting point. I had mixed emotions after twenty minutes when I died, and the game restarted me at the third phase.

On the one hand, I didn't have to do the entire fight over again. On the other, there was absolutely no reason for me to have suffered so long.

On the other hand, there's Megaman X...4, I think. Maybe 5. All the X series bosses have multiple phases, but that one is just ridiculous. Four phases, and all of them are ludicrously difficult.

I built it.

I hated the 360 controllers, anld the One controllers aren't much better in my opinion. They do have really cool designs though.
The PS4 controllers are the most comfortable to me. I wish they weren't so plain though.

Modded Controllers?

I've said it before, I'll say it again: That is just dangedy dang sweet. XD Epic rig, my friend.

Depends on what the mod is, and what you mean by the phrase. I've turned an old OG Xbox controller into a PC controller by soldering in a USB connection...I've also seen some really cool lighting effects and such. Stuff like that I love; physical modding. If you mean cheat mods for controllers that people use, those people can go wedgie themselves with a forklift. Cheaters win...but winners never cheat.

I 'spose so, on bad days. Scares me to admit it though.

3 years in the making. I was going to get the grey rgb case but I had to cut back a few $'s.
Now I need to grind for the new Overwatch skins that go away in a week.

I meant "cheat" modding. Sony and Microsoft both have controllers coming with back bumpers for universal buttons.

Have you ever built a PC?

Sorry for spamming you with Persona 5 music, but there's so much that I've just been enjoying.

This is from the sixth dungeon, which is a distorted casino.

Thoughts?

Worth it. I am in awe. XD

Sony and M$ need to be careful, methinks; if they branch out too much, they might just lose their market. Not a problem for M$, but Sony doesn't have a huge stake in the PC market. Making it easier for PC users to just use an emulator seems like a bad idea to me.

Sort of. Never to the extent that you have, but my dad's previous job gave him access to old computers a few years (maybe a decade, for some of them. :P ) past their prime. Being unable to afford a new one, he would bring them home to me, and I would scrap them; pull the best parts from the assorted machines and conglomerate them into a fairly nice one. Usually, it was just RAM, HDD's, disc drives, and the odd PSU when one of mine failed. Used the rest of the spares to build a computer in a cardboard box, though for the life of me I can't figure out what the rationalization of that one was. Even now.

Installed a GFX card once too, but it melted and lead to the death of that computer, so I don't talk about it often. :P

Hey, I appreciate it. I get to hear music I normally wouldn't, and it's pretty good stuff. I got no complaints about that one either. It's nothing I would listen to often, but I think it's cool they managed to nail the theme without being cliche about it.
