I tend to get all the great crooners confused, honestly. My sister when through a Frank Sinatra phase, so I seem to have a fair bit of his singing in the back of my mind. Mostly, I remember him from a few movies.

I have a dissertation on the subject.
Spoiler:
Chozon1 wrote:I am, as is my wont, of two minds.
For one, I haven't enjoyed the new Final Fantasy games. Granted, the only "new" one I've played is Thirteen, but some of the things still apply. The graphical style, when it shifted from strangely cute and fantastic and vaguely human to "Everyone and their grandfather looks like an Abercrombie model" grates on me, and the battle system never feels as strategic or...something. I know it's still ATB, but it feels weird, and I miss a legitimate job system. It's very hit or miss, and honestly feels luck based at times. Plus, almost every battle (at least in FFXIII, which is the most recent I've played) has the potential to kill you. @_@ I find this, not helpful in avoiding the game becoming boring, but annoying. My characters keep leveling up, but in effect never get any tougher. Literally, the dinkiest little enemies can wipe you out in XIII, and the harder enemies can one shot you.
Plus, the characters--with a few notable exceptions--haven't felt as likable to me. They range from tolerable to downright aggravating, and could literally be pulled from almost any generic anime in publication. The effect of this is that the games feel...off. Like music that's one beat out of sync. Not terrible, but not good. I want to see the end of the song, but I also won't buy the CD. I never finished the game, so I can't comment on the story, or I would complain about that too. XD
BUT...every time I say that, and I'm ready to pass the game off as another eye rolling sequel...I see something, whether it be an over the top hairstyle or ludicrously awesome sword, that reminds me of the FF games I cut my RPG teeth on. And thus the interest is rekindled. I'll wait for some reviews, I 'spose, and see if someone who played more of the originals likes it.
To be entirely honest though, the nudity will probably keep me from buying it anyway. -_- There's also the fact I don't have a PS4, though I hope to remedy that with a modicum of alacrity.
However, now that reviews have listed complaints about the story...I'm a little less inclined to purchase it. There's only so long I can explore a world without a half interesting tale putting a purpose behind it.

Frustrating is, perhaps, the most kind word to apply to the situation. Personally, I was overjoyed when we got our interwebs bumped up to 1.5Mb. XD The hazards of being rural.
At the same time, I find ISP's to be aggravating in general. Earlier this year we were without internet for almost a week; we called customer support--both the overseas and local variety--got a new modem, ran through the whole gamut...only to find out that the ISP hadn't activated the local switch. U srs bro? You had one job.
And during that job, they managed to short the system somehow and fry modems hooked up on the same line. XD

Been a long time since I have seen that movie. I don't remember if I like it or not.
I'm more of an 'It's a Wonderful Life' kinda guy, if I can't watch a Muppet's Christmas Carol.

I had a bite of confit once; I liked it. I'd like to try a large piece, but the price prohibits me. And I don't hunt, and don't know a hunter.
Technically, I know half a dozen hunters; I just don't like them very much, and certainly wouldn't want to catch the flack of asking them for a piece of duck. XD

Infrequently. I prefer real bacon of course...but I don't think turkey bacon is bad by any stretch. I would eat it if I could find it sans nitrites and MSG.

I was interested in it when it came out, but I never tracked down a copy to give it a shot. Isn't that the one that was supposed to be somewhat realistic?
I was more of a GH guy.

I've been playing it. It's really nice because it has the gamey nature of Guitar Hero and similar games, but also improves your actual guitar chops while you play.
In addition to having the ability to learn a song (and play portions of it on repeat at varying speeds to help you learn the tricky riffs), it also has these arcade games you can play to practice certain techniques.
A game called "Ninja Slide'N" has you practicing slides to move a ninja between platforms. You start on the first string, and must slide from the fret represented by your current platform to the fret represented by the target platform. If you over or under-shoot it, you fall and have to try again. If you end up taking too long to clear a platform, the game ends. If you collide with a ghost (they circle random platforms), the game switches the string.
Two games called Scale Warriors and Scale Racer teach you the guitar scales by presenting you with challenges relating to those scales. Scale Warriors is kind of a Double Dragon-esque game where you beat enemies by hitting the correct note on the scale corresponding to where they are standing. Enemies move faster and deal more damage as you go on. Scale Racer is a bit like audiosurf in presentation, where you are racing down a highway and have to hit the appropriate note in the scale to dodge obstacles. The game increases in speed as you get better at it.
It also has lessons where you watch a video, play a little bit of the technique, watch more, play a little more, then get a practice track. Was a nice way to brush up on my Hammer-Ons/Pull-Offs, Bends, and Slides. Overall, cool game. I got an Epiphone Les Paul recently (I had to sell my guitars when I moved, sadly) and Rocksmith has been really nice for getting back into it.
I've also been playing Final Fantasy XV. And this happened, though it is not my recording (Pay attention to what the characters say before and after the battle):
I wanna know what you think. XD

I might have to dig up a copy of it then.
Also, I'm going to have to do some calculations...*pulls out abacus and begins sliding beads*...but I'm pretty sure FFXV just won everything. Literally. Just hand them over everything. XD I love it. LOVE it, even. XD
The chocobo song has been running through my head all day too. The bad part is, the more I see of the game, the more I want to play it.

It's a representation of the fallacy of logic in the human mind and a stunning display of unspeakable sadness.
Hubbard literally said, "I want to create a religion of my own. Now you other people: believe it." And has found people that, despite knowing absolutely that it stems from the mind of a science fiction writer, and has no basis in reality, actually believed it.
It's scary. XD It's everything that is wrong with the modern world. Tribalism is better than scientology, since at least its constituents have the benefits of ignorance.

I do really enjoy Rocksmith. You need a cable though, which is a bit pricey. It is really cool though. I enjoy the ability to play sections of songs at lower speed to get the pattern down, then progress to higher speeds when I feel comfortable. The DLC model is a bit expensive, but songs go 40% off on Steam Sales, usually. Plus, if you get the PC version (Still need that cable) you can use Custom DLC, which has a pretty big selection.
And yes, Final Fantasy XV is pretty great. The story is definitely a bit disjointed (It hinges on you inferring or knowing the events of Kingsglaive, the movie they released) and the characters seem a tough underdeveloped (This is "fixed" with the Brotherhood anime they released which develops the main four characters better than the game does), but that combat system is so satisfying. It's kind of like Kingdom Hearts...but I find it to have less menu jiggery pokery that made combat in KH frustrating. Also, warping and warp strikes are so awesome.
Still play guitar semi-regularly? If so, what guitar(s) do you rock?
