Yeah, that too. XD

I don't often do that. Joy is a sadly deficient quantity in my life these days. But when it does happen, it's nice.

Time loops in games leading to an endless amount of replays in which everyone dies horribly...but you can't stop playing?

Sounds equal parts disheartening and awesome. Any games in particular that you're referring to there? XD

Stories: the Path of Destinies. I ended up really liking it. Succinctly, your character finds a magic book, fights years of war for the rebellion, and dies horribly. Then he finds himself back in the past, just opening the book. You have to make a series of choices through the hack-and-slash RPG story, trying to find one where the hero doesn't die horribly by unlocking truths about the characters and events involved.

I ended up finding the correct path, and really enjoyed the game...but there's a part of me that feels if I hadn't finished it when I did, I would have thrown the controller against the wall. XD There's only so many times you can go through loops of your character being beheaded, stabbed, burned alive, or going darkside (WUT R U DOING FOX) before you just want to walk away.

No spoilers, by the by. The game makes it clear from the beginning that there is a right path. The experience is finding it.

Some cosplayers just break your mind with awesomeness?

Oooh. Sounds fascinating. I kinda want to find a copy now. XD

Indeed. Some of my friends are cosplayers, and while they aren't the mind-breakingly good ones, they are still good. There are some though who just blow my mind. Dang.

It's easy to find, digitally. Seems like its on sale with a modicum of frequency.

Would wearing diapers for an extended gaming session be considered wrong?

Wrong? No. But at the same time, I like taking the chance to stretch my legs a bit when I use the toilet. So nothing wrong with it, but it's not necessarily for me.

Seems like stretching your legs while using the toilet would get messy. I'ma go with a diaper. Stuff is contained at least. >_>

Massive updates that change the game completely?

Not generally a fan, unless the game was so utterly broken it had to be re-worked. I generally prefer games to be in the same state they were when I bought them.

Paragon had a recent update that changed basically the entire meta. The overly complex upgradeable card system was replaced by a much simpler yet more customizable card system, and the heroes were changed and balanced to the extent that everyone is much more durable, so team fights usually last longer than three seconds.

Took me awhile to get used to it, but the game is dramatically improved because of it. Used to be each character had a set 'correct' build, and deviating from those exact cards got you screeched at by the 'so hardcore' crowd. Yes, I have had people check what cards I was using mid game, and tell me I was doing it wrong. Not "Can I make a suggestion" doing it wrong, but "STUPID TRASH NEWB DON'T RUN X CHARACTER WITHOUT X CARD" doing it wrong.

Now...it's a lot more open. All the affinities can be used for each character, so you can basically play them how you want. Only don't try to use a carry mid lane, because that's always a bad idea.

The unfortunate thing is that I've worked hard over the past week to acquire this knowledge, relearn the game, and reclaim my latent skills...and it will be dumped out of my head after Wednesday. >_>

Over complicated instructions by 'professionals' are worse than bad instructions from normal people?

I mean, both are pretty bad, TBH. Just look at Unity tutorials: They fall neatly into both categories. I'd rather see examples than a tutorial, most of the time.

I mean, that's a large part of why I haven't written in over a year. Then again, I've been ruminating on some ideas that I might start on soon. My problem is I like to draft a high level plan of the story, and for this one...I can't figure out where to go for one of the major plots. So I'm just stuck. XD

Big explosions. If you can't figure out how to end something, just use big explosions. And time travel.

Sounds like a survival/crafting game pitch. XD
