Chozon1 wrote:The first three were awesome. Four, I just stopped listening to.

Five (wiping it all out) was alright. Not my thing, but I could tune it out after battle 37.

Six I enjoyed, though at the risk of appearing to be an old man, I have no idea what they were saying. Good stuff, either way.

Seven was...not terrible. Same as number five, for the most part. Good chorus though.

Eight...I'm torn. I'm not sure if it's at the "play the game muted" level, but it's also not at the "I can ignore this" level. I'd probably get over it, all other things not considered.
1-3 are indeed awesome. And if you get a PSP (Or are ok with an emulator and/or PS1 versions), those three games are pretty solid JRPGs. Not super groundbreaking, but cool. Persona 2: Innocent Sin has my favorite story of any JRPG I've ever played, and I do not say that lightly. Persona 2: Innocent Sin is (legally, unless you get the fan translation and emulate it) only available in English on the PSP, while Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is only available in English on PS1, so be warned.

I'm not even going to defend four. It's...meh. I rather like five in the context of Persona 3's music.

Six is hard for you to track because it's a Japanese singer trying to sing English lyrics. It's kind of a thing in the MegaTen series.

Seven, I prefer Six let us say.

I actually really like eight, but that's because I really like Acid Jazz, which the entire Persona 5 soundtrack is themed around.

So let's jump to a different series. You might have seen the 3DS game Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers floating around. While this next song unfortunately is not in the game, it was shipped on a CD with the limited edition in Japan, and I think it's amazing.

Thoughts?

I actually have a PSP floating around somewhere. It was basically used just for Monster Hunter. :P I'll look the game up though, since I do love me some RPG goodness.

That song was pretty amazing. Started off reminding me of the music in Megaman X. I got no complaints.

Don't you just love getting coupons for free stuff for stores that are 3 states away?
Don't open the door amigo; for the sake of your children, and your children's children, and fat guys everywhere...leave it sealed.

Or let me know how it tastes. >_> I happen to have a box of oatmeal creme pies sitting in the cabinet.

And...no. That bothers me on some level that reaches real frustration, if it's an item I want. I realize their computer systems can't do everything, but you'd think they would at least be able to recognize 250 miles is not a drive able distance. XD

So let's jump to another series!

This is the main battle music for Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne.

Nocturne's music is pretty good. It's got some of the best battle music I've heard in an RPG.

For example:

I don't got no complaints. It lacked the epic bridge thinigum of the other, but was pretty awesome still.

Reminds me of Megaman X.

I got coupons for a restaurant in Canada once, it was a good place :(

Burgers with Doritos, chili, pepper jack cheese, and BBQ sauce?

I need to play Megaman X one of these days.

So the final boss to Nocturne has two forms. Each has their own battle music.

Here's the music for the first form:

And the music for the second (and final) form:

So what do you think?

That's slightly out of reach for a Friday outing. XD Of course, if the food was good enough...

Hmm...almost feels like it would be overwhelming. Lot's of spicy and biting flavors...I can't think that I've ever turned down a burger though. I'd try it.

It's a classic. It's the best of the Megaman series (though all of them are solid games...avoid 5, I think. Whichever one has the Enigma device). Though part of that is nostalgia; that was the first game I ever beat, I think.

They were both suitably boss fight, and not bad. But I tend to prefer more epic sounding things for boss fights. I want to feel like the world is on the line.

It's a Sheetz burger.

Edit: Forgot Sheetz was local to a few states. Basically the best gas station in the world, tied with Wawa.

Why are gas stations the best place to go for snacks?

Are you from Pennsylvania? Because I remember seeing both of those when I was last visiting my grandparents near Lancaster. XD

Megaman X is a SNES title, right? Might pick it up one of these days. Or emulate it.

As for epic final boss music, there's a spin off to Shin Megami Tensei called Digital Devil Saga, and it's sequel (Creatively called Digital Devil Saga 2) has some excellent final boss music:

Variety of customers, I think. If you want crazy, weird, or odd snacks or soda, big box stores usually won't have them because of target markets. A good gas station however, with people coming from all over the US, will. I don't know if you have a Flying J where you live or not, but the local one here sells everything from knives (and the occasional sword), to showers to random electronics.

It's fun. XD

Originally, yes. But it's been remade a half dozen times for the Xbox/PS2/Gamecube generation, and even the PSP (It's called Maverick Hunter X, and though it's a remake, it's very close to the original. Perhaps even improved).

That was pretty awesome. That's some good last boss, music.

Yes actually. The only place I've ever seen a Wawa is in Lancaster too.
We have a few Flying J's here, they aren't good compared to Sheetz or Wawa. Both these places sell just about everything.

Gilmore Girls?

So which version would you recommend playing?

I'm learning there's many games from the NES era, the SNES era and even the PS1 era that I missed. For instance, I've never played a Castlevania game (I've heard Symphony of the Night is one of the best). I've only played Megaman 1, but I liked it well enough. I've also never played Super Metroid or even the original Metroid. :(

So Shin Megami Tensei IV came out on 3DS, and was notable for having DLC. Some of the DLC included new bosses, including these really hard fights with these enemies called Archangels. They look nothing like classic depictions of Archangels. But...they included a new song to accompany the fight. And it's awesome.
