?

Also, what video game consoles do you have?
I don't actually have much trouble believing that, really. Synths are amazing instruments when they're actually used as instruments, and not just sound equipment. It does make it more impressive though.

The newest I have is a PS3 and a Wii. Behind that, I've got a PS2, an OG XBox, a Gamecube, a PS1, a N64, a Sega Genesis, and a SNES. Actually, I guess the most current is my 2DS, but that''s not a console...

It's odd that I don't have a current gen game console. It's been awhile since that's happened, as you can see. XD I blame Warmachine.
micah211 wrote:I have the same situation with burritos and tacos. There's a local place around me that has the best beef burrito I've ever eaten... Far better than any taco. Other burrito's however, aren't as good as tacos. Taco Bell tacos are delicious.
I'd pick Tacos I think.

Best stuff to put on nachos?
Recently, I've been loading my ingredient gun and firing full blast at my nachos, desiring to perfect my hand at that most ancient of crafts.

I usually make them as a meal for three, and load the up a healthy layer of chips with seasoned refried beans, double ground Mexican meat, sour cream, black olives, cheddar cheese (or, when I can get it, Mexican melting cheese, which oozes into a solid layer of cheesy, heavenly goodness when baked), pickled jalepenos, and fresh diced tomatoes (which, contrary to popular belief, need to be put on before the nachos are cooked; not as a topping afterwards. It incorporates them and cuts a bit of the jarring rawness out).

Some people put lettuce on it after it's cooked...I consider that a ruination. A bit of taco bell style hot sauce (also made at home) would not be unwelcome. Now, admittedly, that many ingredients and a baking session makes the chips soggy, so it pretty much cannot be eaten without a fork, and is arguably more of a casserole than nachos...I'm still working on fixing that.

...dang, but I am starving now. I have a need for nachos that almost hurts.

Difficult to say. I actually know very little about the denomination. XD I know remarkably little about any denomination besides Baptist (or non-denominational, which are basically Baptists with a cool website. :P).

I should look the different flavors up.
Emwok wrote:Beethoveen's Moon-horn (Moonlight) Sonata?
That was actually pretty cool. XD Moonlight Sonata is probably my favorite Beethoven work, and that sounded like it was played by Deku Scrubs.

Those nachos sound like heaven.

For strictly salsa dipping, what is your favorite type of chip?

I think it's Da_Chozon1...you''d think I'd remember it better as frequently as I see "randomperson just shotgunned Da-Chozon1".

Eventually, I'd love to get a PS4. Lack of backwards compatibility killed it for me when it came time to choose between a PS3 and a PS4, though, and I cannot for the life of me fathom why that feature is going out of style.

No Man's Sky and FF15 look amazing, though. I'm missing out on Uncharted, too. But I'm more likely to get a Wii U, at the moment. Or maybe hold off for an NX.

Also, that was really beatiful. I could probably listen to that on repeat for awhile.
micah211 wrote:Those nachos sound like heaven.

They're pretty tasty, I won't lie.

For standard salsa dipping, I prefer the generic corn tortilla chip. It depends on the brands (some use a coarse ground corn, others use something closer to masa), but I tend to prefer the yellow. Not much taste difference, but the yellow looks like it tastes better. XD

If you want to get very specific, I love On the Border tortilla chips. They use the masa type stuff, and it somehow manages to be durable enough for salsa, and they explodes into corny crunchy glory when eaten.
RedPlums wrote:Cat-a-holics?
I'm not a cat person, myself, and I have trouble understanding why anyone is. Cat's are tetchy on a good day, and a whirling dervish of fur and bloody claws on a bad day.

I come home and my dog throws herself at me; she loves me dearly, wants me to know it, and is genuinely excited to see me. Literally, I open the door, and she does her best to let me know she loves me to the end of the earth. <3 Starphire is pretty self sufficient, but she'll come and find me if she's scared, lonely, or just wants to know where I am.

My cat wants to know if I have food. If I don't, there's a fifty-fifty chance as to whether she'll exact penance for entering her presence without an offering. If I do, then I get to live another day as she gracefully allows me to leave her presence after presenting my offering. Cat's in general are interested in you only when they want to be, and you could probably not exist the rest of the time.

So while I know cat people, I don't know why cat people. Unless you want a pet you can kind of ignore...cat's are good for that.
That was wildly hilarious. XD Just really.

I just finished playing all 4 Uncharted games (I recommend the Nathan Drake collection on PS4 to the PS3 versions. The first game had you move the controller to throw grenades on PS3, and it sucked.), and holy crap, they are incredible.

The fourth game is probably the best-looking game I've played in...ever. It's a masterful work of art, and it's lots of fun to play too.

Ok, these next songs are weird:

Here's the original song (Gran Turismo 2!):

And here's a more dance-friendly remix:

Bad phrasing on my part. I mean I'm missing out on the continuation of the Uncharted series...I love the first three. Didn't actually have a problem with the grenade system, but that's coming from a Wii player. :D However, since Destiny: Rise of Iron is PS4/Xbox1 exclusive, it just got pushed up my list. XD

I actually liked the first version a lot better, I think.

*NINJA EDIT*

How is Destiny? I'm really tempted to get it, but also nervous, because I dislike gamepad shooters. XD

*EDIT 2*

I tried the demo.

I...wasn't a huge fan, actually.

The controls reaffirm my belief that gamepads and shooters are not a good match. The sensitivity is not fickle enough for me. 9 is too slow, 10 is too fast.

And then there's the story. It is non-existent, practically. I couldn't give two craps what was going on, because the game explains literally nothing to you. Everything in this game is called "The <noun>". And none of it has any rhyme or reason for existence. There's the grimoire cards, but YOU CAN'T VIEW THEM IN-GAME. WHO CAME UP WITH THAT?!?!?!

The missions are no better. The few missions I've played have been over-drawn for the sake of lengthening the experience (A Bungie trademark, apparently. I loathe the level design in Halo 1 for precisely that reason, especially Library and Guilty Spark levels), and I legitimately rage quit on the second one for a day.

There's this Dark Zone thing (I don't remember what it was called, the no-respawn zone), and I had to clear a room, and fight a little boss thing. I got the boss to half health, and died. Room completely reset, meaning I would have to clear the room again. I was already not having fun (I was just trying to get through vanilla content as quick as possible because I hear the expansion content is good, unlike apparently vanilla), and that just pushed me over the edge. This game had given me no reason to care about it's universe through story or universe, and then kicked me in the face with it's gameplay, expecting me to get back up and try it again.

That clip is how I felt on day one of Destiny. XD

Tried it again a day later, didn't hate it...but I still don't know if I like this. It isn't clicking with me as a cohesive whole. Gunplay is ok (Barring aforementioned sensitivity issues), the loading times are way too long, but the graphics are gorgeous and the soundtrack is awesome. The loot drops are cool...but the missions are so bland. This does some things right, and some things so, so wrong.

Why is space a thing? I mean, in this game. Why do I load space from the Tower, then load a mission from space after selecting it? I get that it's a lobby thing, but shouldn't the Tower also serve that function? If the game had any LFG system at all, it could easily have instanced chat to the group. Space just seems like loading times for the sake of a giant loading screen. Ugh. If it were a short load, it would be one thing, but it takes as long as some missions to load.

Have a shaker of salt handy, as Destiny is not only my favorite FPS, it's one of my favorite games ever. I literally teared up when I found out Rise of Iron is next gen only. XD Odd's of me getting a PS4 before September are incredibly low.

Controls wise...as you found out, it just takes a bit to get used to. Weapons handling varies gun by gun. Not just type by type either; literally, some guns of the same type move faster than others, and vice versa. You've got to play around a bit (which is hard, early game, since not a lot of variety is available to you). Depends on the stats. For myself, once I grew accustomed to them, I found the controls to be probably the best I've ever utilized. I can nail headshots like there's no tomorrow, a feat I've never been able to manage before. :D But again, I'm strictly a console gamer, and have been for two decades now. Just realized that (my birthday was yesterday), so...might just be a fanboy. XD

The story is frustrating until you understand the POV; You have to approach Destiny as a child of two worlds (I apologize for that phrase, by the way. It popped into my head as I'm typing this, and it's WAAAAAAAY to cool not to use. >_>). It's almost more of an MMO, or open world RPG, than an FPS. There is no beginning-to-end story arch of the game. I don't know where the demo starts, but in the whole game, you start off as a dead guy. You are revived by your ghost, told that you've been dead for several hundred/thousand years, and that you should run, since something called 'The Fallen' is hunting you. When you make it back to The City, you are welcomed as Guardian number X, defender of the Last City on earth; “Hey Guardian, the world is about the end, you don't get a name until you've done awesome stuff. Here's a gun and some armor. Go stop the earth from ending, and try not to die permanently.” Story over. :P

Because, and it's really a wise decision on the part of Bungie, you are supposed to understand the world and the story as your character does, since you are your character, and you're basically an autonomous foot soldier in a larger war. The Guardians are too needed to give new ones time to acclimate, so you find stuff out as you encounter it, with the help and advice of your Ghost.

It's like...sort of like Half Life 2. You don't really ever have a “Here's what is happening” moment. You experience the world of Destiny through the eyes of a new Guardian, learning as you go. Even the expansions are only tales within that wider universe; they never truly end, because as soon as they do, there's no need for Guardians anymore, and the game loses its magic. Essentially, you've got to approach it like an MMO with a story more than a single player game with multiplayer options. The 'vanilla' content isn't bad by any means, but it's basically meant to introduce and equip you for the 'real' world.

That's why the levels are designed as they are, too. And why Dark Zones (I uh...don't know the proper name either. >_>) exist. There are no 'levels' in Destiny; you take on missions from the tower, then fly to the proper world to do the quest. Between missions, you are supposed to explore that same world to gain experience, find stuff, ETC. There are a few missions specific locations blocked off, but for the most part, you can go anywhere. Earth is divided into like four or five zones, all of which you travel through seemlessly, and that's just one of the locales in the game. It was crazy awesome the first time I thought I was playing the single player campaign, then came across a group of Guardians taking on one the planetary missions. I helped them out, got my reward, then went back to my original story quest. :D

The Dark Zones are what function as checkpoints to keep you from having to restart the mission from the beginning, especially when you're playing with other players (who drop in or drop out according to the last deadzone). It's the point you are cut you off from the 'real world' and placed (and anyone playing with you) in a self contained environment. The game is made with an open world multiplayer environment in mind, and in my head, Bungie get's extra credit for them, since they've written checkpoints (and respawns) into the world of the game. XD Most of them are placed well, though a few are placed in annoying “I HAVE TO DO ALL THAT AGAIN?” spots. C'est la vie. That's when a team comes in handy, as they can revive you.

As for the Grimoire thing, well...no. You're 100% right. I have no idea who made that decision, but it was terrible. XD They're presented in cool card format on the Bungie site, but I would've been more than happy to read little text blurbs instead if I could've had them in the game. Really, just...bad. A simple diary in game could do the same thing. Even then, it's never a “Here's what is happening” story. You get snatches of the Fall, past events, ETC, from sort of like diary entries from the people that lived (or died) through them.

As for SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE...again, I plead ignorance of what content is in the demo. Because in the full version, there are multiple locations like the tower (each having different services), and six different worlds (seven, when Rise of Iron hits) to choose from. You go into space to pick where you want to go, access the crucible, choose missions, strikes, ETC. It works. The loading times are understandable to me given the scope of the worlds involved. It used to bother me (and still does, when I forget to do something in the tower and have to go back. @_@), but I guess I just got used to it. XD

Missions blandness is what is, I 'spose, and it doesn't really get better as far as the planetary missions are concerned. You unlock more variety as the story goes on and you learn more about the world, but Strikes, raids, story missions, and the Crucible is what the game is made of. Just running around doing the random drop missions would get old fast. XD

For myself I love the game, I love the world, I love the atmosphere. It's not only one of the games I've bothered to max out all 3/9 classes on, it's one of the even fewer games I've studiously striven for success in the multiplayer aspect.

When the Iron Banner (an in game tournament) rolled around. I was nearly at the point of buying finger gloves, for awhile. That's about as serious as a gamer can get, I think. I've dropped a few hundred hours into the game, and I don't regret it. :D

I was also willing to write this whole spiel for it, too. So...there's that. XD

Oh, and the song was good.

Scoops hurt my teeth, for some reason. They make excellent nachos, though.

That...looks stunningly amazing. O_o I didn't watch any of the E3 conferences this year, and I regret it now. I looked as much of the info up later as I could, but I totally missed this, and it seriously looks like a blast.

*sigh* I need a PS4. I'm hoping that the stupid 4X version coming out will drop the price of a normal one to within my price range, or at least to a Christmas level.

Thanks for that, I do appreciate dedication. XD

I just "finished" the trial yesterday. The trial starts you off like everyone else, and gives you access to everything up to level 7. Which I hit. And...I kinda want to see more. But I don't want to pay $50 for the game with all expansions when it was JUST on sale for $30. XD

I do think I might be able to create another character and get them to 7 though. Hmm. Might be worth trying out all three classes. I like my Hunter, but I could also see enjoying a Titan or Warlock...
