I actually like just a simple yellow or butter cake. Good flavor, nothing fancy, and it goes with any icing. Chocolate tastes good on it, fruit flavors, vanilla. Even coffee.

Dang. Now I want a cake. -_-
RedPlums wrote:Honeydew or Cantaloupe?
Probably honeydew. I like green fruits, and I tend to like the lighter more melonish flavor of a good honeydew. Plus, cantaloupes are very hit and miss in their ripeness. If you get a good one, it's awesome. If you miss that very small window of flavor, it ranges from OK to terrible. XD

First off I always glance about forums before I start getting, well, too involved. Some threads catch my eye (mentality, persona, spirit, identity, whatever) and others are just read and placed into history.
So now that I've done so a bit, I pose this question:
What topics catch YOUR eye via, well, mentality, persona...
...
???

(Oh and yes, this question DOES look familiar to some, huh? Call it member curiosity, if you please?)
If God is my Pilot and fully in control of the flight, I guess that makes me a Steward on the plane. How may I serve you?

Ok, so on the topic of your book, let's get more specific.

Forget that I asked you about the pitch. Pretend for a moment you were tasked with writing the "back-of-the-book" summary of the book. What would you write? In as few non-spoiler words as possible, write about the beginning, up to and including a summary of the "hook" (where the reader should be snapped up in the story).

In other words, pretend I'm a reader who's looking at your book. Why should I read it? Who is the protagonist? What are they doing?

I'll give you a rough example for my in-progress story here:
Spoiler:
Faarth Melecesh is an inquisitor for the empire; a man on a mission. Far away from home, he roots out threats in a new frontier. But nothing is at it seems, and no one is as they appear. Danger lurks in every corner while Faarth struggles to link the pieces of the puzzle together. Will Faarth survive long enough to uncover the truth? Or will he become yet another casualty of the dangerous road to his destination?

Yeaaaah...that's a valid point. XD

I googled it. It was...a frustratingly interesting experience. O_o Kind of crazy.
RedPlums wrote:Helen Mirren?
I think the last film I saw her in was RED, which was good, and she was very convincing in her role. I'm not a huge fan of her, but then, I'm not a huge fan of many actors. I do love Kevin Sorbo though.

Hmm...well, anything to do with Star Wars or Trek will probably pique my interests. Miniature wargaming, or anything involving hobby's or modeling. I love things like that. I also tend to enjoy threads about specific games I like. Of course, the Ask threads are always fun too. ^_^

In a world...

No. I'm kidding. :D

I actually have this written up on the back of my proof copy, but I can't get ahold of the information, and I'm too tired to go get the book. So we'll go with this:
Spoiler:
Jacob is a Warder, a guardian of his city. He has been for ten years, and despite his missing memory, he has a good life. But the planet of Levatia is under attack from a mysterious malady, causing it's natural flora and fauna to mutate and turn violent. When a job takes a bad turn, and Jacob takes several mortal injuries then rapidly heals from them, he begins to wonder about who he was before he lost his memory, and if he cannot perhaps save his world. But all is not as it seems, and a mysterious stranger might just rock Jacob's world.
So mysterious, right? :P

See, that's what I'm talking about. I wanted a back-of-the-book, "why should I read this" sort of description. And I think that's what publishers look for too.

It sounds cool. I want to read it. XD

Have you considered working on a second novel (not necessarily a sequel, just a new novel to work on)? I've found that A, I'm getting better at writing and B, I'm forgetting more about my first novel, which will help me edit it. Something worth considering, I think.

Apologies. Should've just done that the first time, sans rant. -_-

As for writing, I actually have considered writing another book. I've got an idea for a sequel bouncing around in my head. I've got one main character, a beginning, and a nice bit of scattered dialog, I'm just waiting for more scenes to show up to put finger to keyboard. I should probably start, but I'm curiously fearful. I haven't decided why...I think I'm afraid that Traveler was a one-off blessing, and that I'll never be able to complete a story again. O_o

Heh. I let out a yell of victory when I hit two meters. XD

Dang I hate that so much. Everytime I would look at your question, I would forget what FNAF meant...and look it up. And be freaked out for the next twenty minutes. -_- EVERY TIME. XD I actually haven't been aware of much hype. Though I have noticed both Target and Gamestop are carrying little bobbleheads. Which I also hate. I think they're making a movie too...was that what the hype was over?

Awesome. I typically look to Demon Hunter for my metal needs...but Red is pretty high on the list now.

The prelude was pretty amazing too. I can't recall that I've ever sat down and listened to it before. It was beautiful. Very energetic.
RedPlums wrote:Favourite senator of all time, in U.S. History?
Not a huge fan of senators, actually. I am of the opinion that those who wish for power should not be given it. Thus, politicians are not high on my list of favored people, senators being among the lowest.

And to be honest...I couldn't answer this question. I'm not a fan of anyone currently in office, and I don't remember enough of my U.S. history to tell you. The two that came to mind immediately were Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Only they weren't senators, but representatives. I was going to be funny, and say Jar Jar Binks, since George Lucas is American, and Star Wars is in american history...except he too, was just a representative. XD

It's done driving the internet crazy I should say, YouTube was filled with it and you couldn't watch anything else. That died down a lot.
