Well, I tried to play Resident Evil 4. Emphasis on the "tried" because the controls are horrid. At least with RE1-3, you had fixed camera angles so it didn't feel too unnatural as a pseudo-isometric game with a bent on being outgunned if there was more than one enemy. But having a chase-cam with an emphasis on action just...no. If you had these controls in any third-person action game that wasn't called Resident Evil, it would be rightly criticized for being nigh unplayable. But because it's RE, it gets a pass for shoddy controls.Chozon1 wrote:Don't try to play the "be an intelligent person that thinks things through" card on me. It doesn't work. >_>
Do anything fun for 'Ween times?
Eff that. Combine that with the awful FOV and you've got a recipe for Stomach churn. I started feeling sick, so I went to the first typewriter to save. Then I quit, at which point my computer crashed. Let's just say I might finally be trying out that Steam refund system, because this game's controls were just terrible. XD
It was a fad back in the day. Certain members (Myself included) were too lazy to make a post here, so other members ended up doing them for us. Chozon1 over here is another example.Woiv wrote:Why was this forum created by kendrick and the questions are answered by you?

The controls for RE4 are actually excellent on the console versions. A bit stiff, but you really need them to be to nail headshots. You're not missing much if you don't beat it, though. >_> If you can, try to reach the lake before you quit. Only scary part in that game.

I played a little more last night, and have decided to wait until my new RAM arrives to try it again. Game crashed my computer again.
I made it to the second typewriter, and then when I decided to quit to play something else, computer crashed again. If the RAM doesn't fix it, I'm refunding the game on Steam and getting it on a console. XD
I don't really have an opinion on Samurai Jack. Mostly because I know almost nothing about it.

Lot's of QTE's in that game too. Are you playing with a controller?

I've been playing RE4 with a 360 controller, yes. It just doesn't jive with me. The tank controls worked for RE1-3, but in this game it seems like someone wanted to make an over-the-shoulder action game and forgot to change the moveset to something more appropriate. The amount of hate I get for expressing that opinion is ludicrous. "You're just not gud enough to handle the controls!" No, I have a limited amount of time to game, and I would rather that experience be fun rather than frustrating because I have to battle some pig-headed control decision made over ten years ago. Ugh.
I've seen this ending problem you speak of a few times, but the biggest example was Persona 4. Unfortunately explaining too much would be spoilers for an incredible game, but it was like "Oh the story is winding down now, cool. And now we jump to the end...no? Ok. Guess I'll keep going at it."

It's funny, but I never had a problem with it. I played both the Gamecube and Wii versions, and actually appreciated the stiff aiming. It's useful against crowds.
Mind, I hated the game. XD I just didn't have a problem with the controls.
Doctor Strange?

Interested, but cautious. Doctor Strange looks good, but I will wait until I see it for myself.

I'm not a fan of Benedict Cumberpatch, but Doctor Strange has been the movie that has interested me the most since the first Avengers movie. I'm not sure why, as I don't really follow the character...I think it's because he's new, and outside the typical Marvel movie stuff.

I dunno what you're on about, Cumberbatch is a pretty great actor. I feel he was miscast in some bad movies (The Fifth Estate, Star Trek into Darkness), but he has some serious acting chops. I don't understand the rabid fanboyism/fangirlism over him, though. XD

Yeah, but he's a jerk. It doesn't really matter how good he is at pretending to be someone else if I don't like him as a person.

I'm curious how you came to the conclusion that he's a Jerk, I've not heard much of anything about his personality. XD
Yep. There's a subreddit called /r/tifu which stands for "Today I effed Up" Some of the stories are downright painful to read.

He put out some anti-Christian stuff a few years ago. And as much as I love you, I don't love you enough to sift through years of internet detritus.

Honestly, I'd prefer to build a RetroPie and load it with more ROMs than the Classic Mini comes with.
Oh hang on, I already did. XD
Now all I need to do is put it into a NES case.

Oh my; that just has so many awesome applications. O_o And it runs Dolphin too. <3 Seems like the perfect OS for an arcade cabinet. Complete with a variety of controllers and a joystick, so you could play everything on it. Or maybe just build it into a Steam Machine-esque console device...
