Yes. There's a difference between hero/antihero. I haven't figured out the modern fascination with the antihero. I think it has to do with people wanting to feel better about themselves.

Yeah I get what you mean. Some antiheroes work for me (like outlaw biker Ben from the game Full Throttle) but other don't.

Such as in the movie Leon (a.k.a. The Professional) where professional hitman Leon dies at the end and it's supposed to be a really serious and sad moment. I just thought "so what, he's a remorseless hired killer, why should I care if he dies?", I felt a little sorry for the girl but that's it. Or in A Clockwork Orange, where Stanley Kubrick tries to make you feel really sorry for his rapist, murdering protagonist who can no longer rape or murder. Sorry, mr. Kubrick, that doesn't work for me.

Afraid I haven't. I certainly want to, and mean to eventually, because it certainly looks interesting.

It's because antiheroes are realistic. In the real world, good things rarely get done by good means. Chaotic good is still good.

Gonna have to agree with Harvester's examples though, even though I liked Leon.

Yep. Totally agree. I actually like the Punisher, and empathize with him. Riddick, though cool, leaves me wondering why I should feel bad for a dude who is really a criminal.
