If for nothing else, guitar is useful for picking up a ukulele and instantly becoming everyone's best friend.

Guitar is my instrument of choice. I use the uke to make the peoples laugh.

Yeah, I don't know very much on ukulele with the exception of a few video game songs, such as Zelda's lullaby and the Mario Bros. theme.

So, I guess you're right. The vast majority of uke is for fun, not practical application. XD

But for me, it's a lighter salad dressing to the srsness of guitar.

I played a uke for one of the songs at my coffee house, it was awesome. Only semi-serious, which doesn't really help my point, but still cool.

We were talking about our own skillz/knowledge of uke compared to guitar, not the instruments themselves. XD

The Pentatonic scale blows mah mind. Not it's sounds (which are cool) but it's methods and existence. O_O I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it.

Music theories is dangerous magics when you have no idea what you're doing. XD

haha... I've learned some music theory, but I never really apply it to anything I do.

I seem to be picking it up sporadically as I learn more about teh musics.

Just not sure how to go about applying it.
