Challenging my ability to give a flip if he thinks I am wrong or not is a bad idea, because I don't, his opinion of me being rude or not matters zilch, let alone his opinion of what a frat boy is or isn't.

I think you've done enough to prove the uselessness of having an intelligent discussion with you. And for the record, the burden of proof lies with the person making a claim. That's not even a debatable fact.

If you can't be bothered to back up your own words...

There are few people on the internet that have any emotional meaning or impact to me. So if you expected me to give you a thirty page thesis on why I am right and you are wrong, then you really need to look elsewhere. So with that said, let's get back to the topic, not "why x is right or wrong".

Nobody is asking for an emotional response or an extensive explanation, frankly it's better off if you give us neither, but if you are going to bother making a claim, don't be surprised when someone wants some backing to it. If you're not trying to communicate something to people here, why even spend the time posting anything?

If you want to have a debate with me, do not attack me. With that said, this topic is ENTIRELY opinion-based, not factual. And I DID infact use the words "I consider" which MEANS that it is my OPINION.

I did not attack you, but I am criticizing what you have said. If what I have said crossed the line and became a personal attack, show me.
Now, I can find in your last couple posts here where you called C$ "butthurt" and his opinion of you doesn't matter a bit.
As opinions go, they are subjective by nature, and when generally when a claim is subjective, we can disregard the whole thing. It doesn't mean anything since it's no longer being held to any objective standards.
I'm not sure if you want your claims to be held in that light; I sure don't and I don't jump to that assumption.
Although, in your last post you stated:
blacksinow wrote:But, it isn't JUST my opinion... the very nature of skyrim is very fratboyish.
So.

One word: Skyrim

Because he attacked me. I didn't mean specifically that YOU attacked me. Orodrist got their point well across without needing to attack me. I always respond in kind, may not be the best way, it it is my way. Let us examine skyrim, it is oversimplified and casual, says frat boy to me and those that I do know. I did not ONCE say that skyrim was fact instead of being an opinion. C'mon, tell me in one of my posts where I mentioned this. You managed to get your point across without attacking me and I respect you for that.

No one attacked you. You're the one who called a nigh-universally acclaimed game "for frat boys" and then called me butthurt, which is ironic when you consider his reactionary you've been.
Anyway, what Arch said.

Well, I can only let C$ speak for himself.
Skyrim a casual? No way. Casuals are low-entry games appeal to the non gamer. Candy Crush is a casual. Angry Birds is a casual. Minesweeper is a casual. Filthy, filthy casuals. Except Minesweeper.
The categorization is loose, of course, but there are categorized by a strong appeal to the non-gaming crowd.
Skyrim is not so. It's a strong exploration-based RPG. Has it been simplified from Morrowind? In places, sure, but I felt it satisfied my RPG needs in a very strong way. Oversimplified is not something I'd characterize it as. I found good enough depth in it, well into late game, and nobody would let me in their fraternity. It gave me one of the best RPG experiences I've ever had with a game and was also one of the hands-down best exploration RPGs I've played, and I quite like my RPGs. Man, I remember popping in the floppy for Hero's Quest, you know, before it was Quest for Glory. Mmm, I digress.
Everybody has their favorite Elder Scroll game and Morrowind has quite a following, too.
Now, to characterize it as a frat game, it needs to be defined by a specific core demographic, and while CoD I can see as both rampant with frat boys and screaming 12 year olds that apparently are acquainted with my mother, I just don't see it. I can see frat boys talking about their awesome 360 no-scope kill over a kegger, but not how they leveled up their Destruction Magic to expert and used it on an elder dragon.
Frankly, while fantasy is catching on in pop culture, it's not quite the level of accessibility that GTA, CoD or Madden offers. Man, frat boys are barely into Star Wars now. It's going to take some time.
Is Skyrim popular? Absolutely, so you're going to find a lot of people who are not hard-core RPG gamers enjoying it. Is it characterized by them? I don't find it that way. Frankly, Zelda would fit that far quicker than Skyrim.

What really bums me out more is the lack of customization in weapon and armor creation. But I've already said that. Actually, I found that dragonborn was the best of Skyrim by far. But I'm the kind've guy who loves it's morrowind nostalgia factor. With that said, it is a very pretty game, but the perks taking more of a dominance over stats, was kind've... meh. The civil war alone was the most disapointment, not JUST because it was unrewarding, but if you didn't complete it... you'd have to do something terrible to complete the plot.
