Just got four new CDs for my birthday:

In Rainbows--Radiohead (already have it, but I love hard copies of albums)
Modern Guilt--Beck
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness--Smashing Pumpkins
Pinkerton--Weezer

Pinkerton is amazing. One of the best albums I've heard in a long time. Haven't had the chance to listen to anything else yet... but I'm sure they're all good, haha.

Got two CDs with a Best Buy gift card. Free music is awesome, is it not?

Audioslave - Audioslave
This is Forever - She Wants Revenge

I already love the Audioslave debut album, but the She Wants Revenge album I'm not quite as sure about. I like their sound, but I think it'll take a little bit more listening before my ear has fully adjusted. Fortunately for me, I'm very good at tuning my ear. 8)

A friend lent me all three War of Ages CD's.

And I promptly ripped them to media player.

Their first is better. Just saying. ;)

I just picked up The Smashing Pumpkins' MACHINA II: Friends and Enemies of Modern Music.

Good stuff. :)

The Bends--Radiohead

I think I actually like this one better than OK Computer. Radiohead's next album, while amazing and visionary and all that good stuff, is actually a harder listen. Layers assault you as they soothe and swirl, eventually establishing their own place in the music, whereas here Radiohead presents a more straightforward rock album. It's more accessible and shows why, exactly, they are one of the best bands around right now... whether they like it or not.

Soundgarden's A-Sides and Audioslave's Out of Exile.

Chris Cornell is MAXIMUM OWNAGE. Sometimes I wish I was him.

Both of those are great albums... though I think that Out of Exile is the least of all three Audioslave discs.

Don't listen to him, HG. You just picked up the best Audioslave album. ;)

Coldplay - Viva La Vida
