Hmm, from what I can tell, there aren't a whole ton of legal considerations that differ from typical retail. I vaguely remember talking about this in the business/marketing classes I took, but that was years ago. One thing to look at is your venue. Are you, for example, going to be selling online or in person? Legality may change dependent on this. Other factors include products sold the state you sell them in.

For example, in Colorado, a video game reseller (i.e., Gamestop or Game Crazy) is considered a pawn shop, so they can't sell to anyone under 18. If they do, big problems can happen.

You would... just with a parent. And I said that wrong... a retailer like that wouldn't be able to purchase from underage customers.

For good reason, too. I've actually had 16 year old kids hand me stolen product, which would then be followed by a police visit, because this little upstanding citizen stole it from a Target up the street.
