Perhaps. Myself I lean towards capsicum.

Though I have considered caffeine injections...much easier than drinking 20 cups of something.

Caffeine losing it's effectiveness?

Is good reason to binge drink it. Long periods of low intake reduce that effect, allowing you to utilize its stimulant effects.
