To be honest, probably nostalgia more than anything. 2nd Edition came out just after I got into it.
But also... theme. Flavor. 3rd Edition is more "cartoony" in a way... less like the classic, old school fantasy medieval setting. I particularly hate the way the Paladin was changed in 3d Edition... The rules aren't that different but... The picture in the book looks more like a Ranger. A Paladin should look right at home with the Knights of the Round Table or the Templars.
In terms of rules... I HATE FEATS. I HATE THEM. I DESPISE that addition to the rules beyond anything I can describe in mortal human language. It's the single most obvious sign that 3rd Edition represented the transition from a game that focused on roleplaying with the rules there purely as necessary (<= 2nd Edition) , and a game that was all about min/maxing and combinations. (>= 3rd Edition)

How do you feel about blue drink?
And how'd yo' bidness trip go?

The blue drink was "meh" for me but not bad.
The trip.. sucked. Worst trip I ever took. Had to sleep in a fleabag motel for the first night because of a screwup at my real hotel, and had to drive home instead of fly because my flight got canceled.

Lame. Though I enjoy a good fleabag motel from time to time. XD
Did you...bidness?

Meh. Wasn't much for me to do at the conference either.

To convince them to use an approach they were, apparently, already planning to use.
To meet people that weren't there for that part of the conference.
To learn more about a technology I don't work with.

Well, that makes sense. Did you at least get ribs out of the bargain?
Also, have you picked up the 6th edition and looked at it yet?

NO. On your recommendation I tried... I actually drove around for a couple of hours and couldn't find a single rib shack anywhere... I've come to the conclusion that there are no ribs in St. Louis.

Yeah I have a copy... $75 for the book... It seems cool... The new rules are not kind to the Black Templars.

Thoughts on this:
?
Also, I have a job interview for a programming position tomorrow. Any advice or tips?

I see no image, sir.
Interviewing for a programming job? Excellent. Here's my one piece of advice:
Do not overstate your abilities. Interviews are all about looking as good as you possibly can, but resist the temptation to sound more confident than you are in any particular area. If there's something you know well and are comfortable with, emphasize that, but don't let them come away with the idea that you know more than you do.
I know you wouldn't do something like that consciously, but it's amazing how easily we can fall into it if we're not being aware.
Good luck!
