True...But I'm wanting to see how much power I can put through an infrared LED before it burninates. My sensor bar busted a few weeks back...which means I have at least twelve IRLED's at my disposal.

You're...gonna have issues with that. Can't just crank up the juice iirc. The LED's aren't designed for the ultra-high output needed.

Probably...I just need to find a breaking point for them, and then I can get a capacitor. It'll take some looking into, some burned fingers, and that nasty plastic smell will probably stink up my room for a week.

But still...it's worth it, I think. Or at least fun.

Making jewelry and small metal tools by hand?

You'll need at least a jury-rigged grill for hardening when it comes to tools, but...with a blowtorch, a grinder/belt sander combo unit, and some mokume-gane or silver sheet, you can make decent jewelry easily.

Cool tapes. I found a vid for making a small forge for under $20...I'm considering making Christmas gifts out of it. I have perhaps a half pound of silver that I'd need to melt down, and getting scrap should be easy enough.
