Contrary to what people might think, no type of disease, mutation, or alien infestation can overcome the fact that in order to for muscles to be functional th ey need a steady supply of oxygen rich blood. Even assuming that's overcome, say, by zombies who lack open, bleeding wounds, a few shots pretty much anywhere would kill them.

That aside, there's still the issue of causing other damage to the CNS, like, say, destroying any significant portion of the spinal column.

Load with garlic powder, silver pellets, and...cinnamon oil. It takes away some of the smell.

And any time I'm up North I sleep armed. Or, moreso than usual. See, my grandpa's house generates inordinate amounts of infrasound. I did a couple armed sweeps before I figured that out. Still creepy.
