Well, I tried a Belgian White (Blue Moon). I...had to pitch it. I couldn't handle the bitterness. XD

This is why I like Vodka, the taste is weak enough that I can down it really quick without feeling like I missed part of the experience.

I also love me some Cider. Especially Angry Orchard's Apple Ginger Cider. Stuff is sooooo good. Tart, dry, and crisp.


Any other recommendations? I realize this is not looking good. XD

Yeah, I don't think I can think of a beer that's less bitter than Blue Moon. Like... I didn't think it was bitter at all. Maybe Bud Light or Coors light is less bitter, but I can't recommend that in any capacity. But seriously, don't.
Maybe you should just keep drinking bitters until you like them.
There's a part of me that wants to see you try Hopsicle, Moylan's self-proclaimed Triple IPA. ... sooo... goood.... It's the hops that just won't stop.
But if Blue Moon is too bitter, maybe you should take a break from beer.

I guess enjoy Hard Ciders. Woodchuck does a good amber cider. I have a friend who's pretty into ciders and she recommends Scrumpies, which, I believe, are an unfiltered cider.

Well I actually finished a beer today. Batch 19 Pre-Prohibition Lager by Coor's, on Drew's suggestion.

Didn't love, but didn't hate it, and I didn't pitch it. I think I might be developing the taste for it. XD

So in general, what are some good diversifying categories for beer that aren't as harsh as an IPA? I'll have to try Belgian White again, but are there any other good kinds to try? I've heard that for fuller flavor, Stouts and Porter's are really good.

Did the grape thing...it was glorious. More glorious than on the video, in fact, since the intense electrical oscillation noise wasn't present on the video. XD

Belgians and Lagers in general, I would think, would be for you. Porters and Stouts are more full, and if you like smokey and coffee flavors, that might be for you. I don't, personally, so I can't really recommend, and if I liked one, it'd be for the hop character.

Once you feel adventurous, a great way to try beers is go to a local brewery and try their flight. A great way to try a bunch of different types in small amounts.

And you know what, Red Dawn is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I saw the old one and haven't gotten around to the new one yet, but it hits my 'Murica heart.

Mmm...well, I do love mad sci points...but, just as a caveat, some sources on the interwebs say it will brick your microwave. Food for thought.

Brick the microwave? Possibly, for long exposures. I'm honestly not sure, but I don't think a short burst would do it.

You got me thinking about the size of the microwave, and I believe it's based on the wavelength of microwaves. I'm not sure a giant microwave would be so easy to make...

Neither are explosive muffins. That hasn't stopped me yet, though. >_>

Actually, i think it would need to be smarter, more than just bigger. Using multiple magnetron's placed in wave patterns around the device, rather than one large one.

Just out of curiosity what kind of gas mileage does your car get?

I get close to 20 mpg, and that's with a pretty solid mix of highway and city driving, along with a couple flat out gunning it. You know, to merge on the freeway.

Also, as a note, I get 91 for my car. People sometimes forget that the performance cars take a more expensive gas. It doesn't really break the bank, but it makes filling up just a little more unpleasant.
