Well, not really. I'm genuinely curious why you find being considered a fan distasteful.
I'm not trying to back you into a corner. It legitimately puzzles me.

It's because that just because you like a game a lot doesn't necessarily mean you're a fan. I just like Sonic. I just like games. What's the deal?

I have a bunch of games I like (or, according to you, a fan of):

The Bouncer
Viewtiful Joe 1, 2, and Red Hot Rumble
Kingdom Hearts
Super Smash Bros.
Persona 4 Arena
One Piece: Grand Battle
Naruto
Shaman King: Power of Spirit
Battle Fantasia
Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown
Street Fighter
Guilty Gear
I've also played (and beat) all of the first four games of Devil May Cry (and I am never going to play the new version)
Final Fantasy
Onimusha
Need for Speed
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Power Stone
Armored Core

......I can't list them all here.

It's not a bad thing. Embrace the fandom. It's good for you!
