Hey guys,
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I was up at 6 am and my day was finished around 11 pm so I basically went home and crashed because I was up at 8 this morning for church. I just got home and I will be reviewing the posts and setting up the next step.
I am using a combonation of modules and my own homebrew world for the setting. If you recognize a module and know what's coming up, please do your best not to use your foreknowledge to influence your character's decisions. You guys all seem like very mature roleplayers, so I have nothing to really worry about.
Any how, I'm off to setting up the next post. It should be up in an hour or so depending on what's going on at the homestead.

Thanks for making room for one more, fathom. Right now Brokan is surviving out in the woods on his own. As far as whether he's a branded or not, I'll leave that to your discretion as a storyteller.
I edited the character sheet to reflect what spells he has memorized when he enters the story.
Edit: I also traded in the self-sufficient feat for track. I didn't realize the survival skill was so limited for tracking without that feat. I figure its not too late to make that trade bc the character hasn't been introduced yet. If it is too late I can change it back.

That should be addressed to me, not IronWizard, right? I peeked bc I figured you meant to talk to me.
Oh, if we catch something in peoples' character sheets, can we post them here? I noticed the following omissions:
Minather should get a +2 base bonus to Will
CrimsonBlade should get a +2 base bonus to Reflex
If pointing out this kind of thing is stepping on toes I'll stop but I thought the players might like to know their characters have a little more power that shouldn't be overlooked.

Please, by all means. I looked over the sheets but when dealing with 6 different character sheets there are a lot of details to consider. Not to mention that I don't go into the PHB and look at what each class should or shouldn't have, especially in the little details like base save and what not. The only thing I ask is for it to go both ways. If someone used too many skill points or passed the max rank, etc. give them the heads up too.
Thanks!!

I understand why you would want more than one person to confirm this. You can also check for yourself:
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/rogue.htm
Table: The Rogue shows that every level 1 Rogue gets a +2 base Reflex bonus. This means on the Reflex line of your character sheet you can put a 2 in the box that says "base." With that added to the dexterity bonus you already put down, your total Reflex bonus should be +6, which is just about as high as a level 1 character can ask for.

I'm no veteran, but I'll confirm it. Since you're a lvl 1 Rogue, you get +2 Reflex save according to the table.
I'd pop that right in your Base Reflex Save box.

Hey Fathom, can you elaborate a little on the type of religion a Paladin like mine would be most likely to adhere to? I've always played my Paladins in the style of the original Basic D&D game in which they had to choose a religion to represent. To me that's the way a Paladin makes the most sense because they are, after all, holy warriors.

Wow, I totally did not see that on the table...XD
Alright, I'm uber confused on spell-casting. I know this much:
To learn, prepare, or cast a spell I need to have an Int score equal to 10 + spell level. To use a spell, I have to memorize it by studying for an hour. You can also only cast so many spells at whatever level.
So for me, that means I can cast 3 level 0 spells and 1 level 1 spell. Cool. Now I also read that there's a number of bonus spells you can get if you have a high Int score, but I cannot find the numbers on that. Little help?
Finally, and most importantly, I'm not sure I understand what "cast" means in this context. Does this mean the following:
I choose Magic Missile as my level 1, and Acid Splash, Flare, and Ray of Frost as my level 0s. So does this mean that I can cast the level 1 once, and a level 0 three times (or just once each as well)? Or does it mean that those are the only spells I know and there are no limitations on how many times I cast them?
Cuz if it's the first...I'm dead. I can essentially participate in four rounds of combat before I'm done. Unless I completely misread the rules. XD
The SRD is not very specific about this, so any and all advice/guidance/help is appreciated.

Here is where the bonus spell chart is:
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/theBasics.htm#theAbilities
Bonus spells apply to the number of spells you can cast per day. Your character would get one level 1 bonus spell per day (you can't use bonus spells to get spells at levels higher than you normally could, so no level 2 spells or higher until you reach a level than can cast those without bonus spells).
So, yes, you can memorize a total of 5 spells each day and cast those spells. Yes, this means you can cast five spells and then you're done with magic for the day. Yes, that means if you want to cast ray of frost twice, you have to use two of your daily level 0 spells to prepare ray of frost.
To break it down more...
To "learn" a spell means it is recorded in your spellbook. Based on your character sheet it looks like your spellbook has the spells you've learned already in it. At level one you've learned all the 0 spells and a certain number of 1 spells. I'm assuming you have the right number.
To "prepare" a spell means that you've chosen to memorize it at the start of the day. You can prepare 2 level-1 spells and 3 level-0 spells. For example, you could use your two level-1 spells on magic missile and true strike, and your 3 level-0 spells on acid splash, ray of frost, and ray of frost again. That means during that day you can cast any of those spells once except ray of frost which you could cast twice.
To "cast" a spell means to use one of the spells you've prepared for the day. So once you've cast ray of frost in the above example, you've got one ray of frost left. Cast magic missile and there's no more magic missile for the day.
Of course, this is just an example. You could prepare whatever combination of spells you want.
Hope that helped.
