@Emwok-I'm in Dallas on business sometimes. If it's not too crazy of an event going on for me and you live nearby we should get coffee or lunch sometime. I'll let you know when I'm there.

@Emwok-LOL! Sorry dude, I get on the forums and thing everyone is over 18. Totally not trying to sound like a creeper, just trying to be social. In any case, enjoy living in Texas, it seemed like a nice place when I was out there.

Yea that's a good way to play it safe. I really don't want to be considered a wierdo of any sorts so I would rather error on the side of caution.
Now I do beleive if a person says they are older then it's cool to say things like I said. Granted I still don't want to be wierd. I guess the question is when would it be ok to want to meet someone from the internet and have it not be wierd. For example, Arch, you are from California right? I was born and raised in California and occasionally go out there to visit. You mentioned in a previous post that you were an older gentleman (older than 18 at least). So would it be wierd for me to say, "Hey Arch, next time im in the area we should get lunch?"
Hard to say I guess because we don't exactly know each other IRL. Honestly though, i think it would be so cool to have an online community that knows eachother beyond the forums. I don't like or support creepers though, and wouldn't want to make an atmosphere where people could try to prey on anyone. I don't know, what do you guys think?

Yea, that's what I mean. Nothing serious. Like coffee or meet at a book store or perhaps an abandoned rest stop that's under construction. You know, nothing weird......
But really though, I think that would be epic. Not sure when I will be headed that way or if I can even swing it when I am in California, but I think that would be cool.

Yea for sure. I would say wait a few years and don't let anyone (ANYONE) try to talk you into meeting them. That's a sign of a creeper. If they try to convince or coerce you into meeting, you need to throw up a red flag and let the forum mod know so that they will be aware that someone might be trying to prey on people in the forums.Emwok wrote:Wow. I love the idea that there is the possiblility of being a community in and out of the forums. I don't like the idea of those who might see this as an opportunity to work evil.
