It was an enjoyable, but flawed, Western. The whole love-triangle was poorly developed, and the villain was surprisingly cliched and just overall rather flat. Better Westerns have been made. But since they're so rare nowadays, it was still a good bit of fun.

City of Ember - It was okay, but my personal enjoyability of the film was hampered by me just being pissed that I've pretty much had this idea in my head for years, and now it's ruined.

We Own the Night - Fairly good cop drama starring Joachim Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg. The acting was great, but the script dragged. It's no Heat, but it's worth a watch if you've got nothing else to do. C+

I didn't catch the whole thing...but, what I saw (can't believe I'm saying this) was good. Good in the way that the movie is just plain silly, realizes that, and has fun with the concept. Minus some bad acting acting (Jessica Alba was terrible), it worked for me. I'll probably get it from the library so I can see the whole thing.

Up

It was beautiful in just about every way that a movie can be beautiful. Leave it up to Pixar to warm my heart and make me feel like a kid again.

She acted in that? I thought she was just there for eye candy.

Anyway, I'm finishing off a bunch of stuff on my Netflix Instant Watch queue, so here's the last of the two and a half movies I've watched today (the half is from We Own the Night, which I'd started on last night).

An American Carol - It's like Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh got together and wrote a Naked Gun type movie. It's not completely awful and I did chuckle a few times, but it isn't really good either. Kevin Farley (Chris Farley's brother) plays Michael Malone, a caricature of Michael Moore. I don't have a problem with them bashing Moore. The guy has had it coming for a while. But it gets old after the first fifty times. And it just isn't very well written... the plot rambles, and most of the jokes are either cheap jabs at exaggerated liberal stereotypes, or Kevin Farley getting trampled or slapped. C-

She was. :|

The sequel was even worse in that respect.

Wow.

It was awesome, but it reused too many of the original's spectacular scenario's..

And now you have tasted Woo, albeit in his lesser American form.

Way better, way more enjoyable than I expected. Lots of similarity to some of the Die Hard movies, but that's just fine in my book.

Blows my mind that it was a WWE production. Like. When did that happen?

And? That's generally Hollywood's idea of what eye candy should look like. -_-

Other actresses may look plastic, but I don't think I've ever seen an actress with that much makeup on for an entire movie, not even in something like Dreamgirls.

And, I went to see Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs today. Enjoyably stupid, but Simon Pegg and Scrat completely steal the show, and Sid...is Sid, as usual. I was never that interested in the whole Manny plight in any of the movies, to be quite honest. Diego just gets annoying, and Ellie never has that much to do.

I'd give it a C+
