This. O_O

HD Sportster

Apparently, the sportster class has always been looked down upon as a sissy bike.

Believe me, I'm talking with my parents srsly over it. XD

If I started dressing like Blade, would that be overkill?

Eh, idk about Blade.

I'd just get an oilskin duster and a cowboy hat. A helmet might be wanted though...

Though, seriously, you can get a used Marlin/Glenfield 60 for $100 man. Saw one for $119 with a scope at a place that charges waaaay to much. We need more gun owners here.

For that matter, it's not unheard of to get one for $50 at a pawn shop. It'd need a little tinkering, but nothing serious. For that matter, I'd do it myself, but you'd pay more for transferring it back and forth from here than it's worth.

They aren't crap btw. Nix shoots one.

Eh...I really do need some gun experience, and the fact I love them...somewhere along the line, I became afraid of doing new things...I have to break that.

So...what's a Marlin/Glenfield 60?

It's one of the most well liked semi auto .22 LR's.

14/18 round magazine capacity, depending on how old a one you get. The Glenfield was sold at retail stores iirc. Think Walmart equivalents. Basically it was less pretty and cheaper, that's all.

As far as the actual rifle, if it's half as good as my Marlin 980S bolt action, it's dead accurate, which Nix says it is. He also claims he barely cleans it, but don't expect that with an older one.

Hmm...buying from a gun show, I would need an ID, but that's pretty much it right?

Though I spurn the term, what're the legal requirements for owning a rifle?

Depends. If you buy from a private seller at a gun show, you'd only need an ID, and honestly...you might not even need that XD. But, be aware some gun stores and FFL's set up at gun shows. For them, you'd need a ATF Form 4473, which takes about a minute to fill out. After that, they'd call a number, and get your background check.

Legally, you can't be a convicted felon, domestic abuser, stalker, drug/alcohol abuser, or mentally ill. Don't worry, they'd need to prove the latter legally.

Basically, buy from a private seller. Less paperwork, and you'd not be on a permanent record. Fun fact: when the Russians invaded in Red Dawn, you can hear orders given to find form 4473's.

If you reaaalllly wanted to, you could also get a handgun from a private seller. But, they're expensive and inaccurate. And ammo's expensive. Fun, but in the long run, save the extra cash for range fees.

Contrary to popular belief, gun registration is a myth in most states. Not checked yours, but you live in the South.

Sometimes, you know me too well. XD

So basically, I get the cash, wait for a gun show, then pick a gun of choice?

...that seems so easy in today's polictical climate.

Sadly, I won't have the money for a long while...Anyway, what about ammo?

Pretty much. This is still America, and you are in the south....

Walk in, show ID.

Or, order online, fax/email ID.

But, imo, ammo for anything more than a .17 HMR costs too much. Now, at a gunshow especially, you may find extremely cheap military surplus ammo, especially in former Soviet bloc ammo. Given a decently consistent source of income, you may be able to afford the likes of 7.62x54mmR, 7.62x39mm, 5.45x39mm, 8mm Mauser, 7.62x25mm, 9x18mm and so forth. Just be aware most of it's corrosive and toxic to some extent XD.

Overall, I'd add that when you do go to buy a gun, go to the gunshow on the first day, pick out a few options, then go home and do research. Or have me do it for you if you'd like.

Nice. XD Corrosive and toxic...it wouldn't hurt the gun too bad would it?

Not if you clean it after shooting it.

That's what's important.

I feel I should already know, but how come surplus soviet ammo is in American markets?

Capitalism XD.

A while back, smart people imported a lot of the stuff. It's still cheap, like $100 for 1000 round, but once the supply gets shot up...it'll be expensive. Because, well, it's military ammo. Armor piercing.

What the...armor piercing rounds are available that easily? XD

Wow...I think I'd still rather have a .22 or sommat small first.

Experimental films?
