Makes sense 'bout Melee.
I may or may not know for a fact that the family is getting a Wii for Christmas.
Game suggestions?

I think I was busy...had a weird weekend that I may actually try to forget.Kendrik wrote:Why aren't you playing DDO with Spartan and I?

SSBB is pretty fun. I'm not unrecommending it...I'm just odd, is all.Nix wrote:Makes sense 'bout Melee.

Game suggestions?

Metroid Prime collection is something I could easily recommend, if you're into Metroid style games. Super Mario Galaxy is...just plain amazing. I would recommend that to even people who only play FPS games and threaten to kill if even a suggestion for another genre is waved their way.

Excite Truck is a racing game (/perhapsobvious) that I simply love. An SD card allows you to put your music in to the game.
Super Paper Mario is one of the funnest action RPG's I've played. The Conduit is insanely short...around 4 hours. But definitely worth it if you find it cheap...the controls are stupid good, the graphics push the Wii, and the story itself is quite entertaining. Good game.
Twilight Princess had too much "wow-that-lady-ain't-wearing-a-shirt-at-all-is-she?"-ness for me, but if that doesna bug you, I'd happily recommend that as an easier entry in the Zelda series. Good game.

Generally, 1st party ninty won't let you down. XD
Red Steel is...odd. The control can be frustrating until you're used to them, and it too had the same issue as Zelda, but frankly, I loved it. O_o If you get it, try to play it before you get The Conduit...it's just a cool game.

Well, I should have mentioned that we are getting SSBB. Other than that though, nothing (save for the normal Wii sports).
I loooove Metroid. So much. Does the collection have multiplayer? I also want the Galaxy games, but IIRC they don't have multi... which is something that we're looking for for starters (should have said that at the beginning, as this is a family system).
Excite Truck... I was wondering about that, if it's any good and such. It has multi, and is a racing game... I have just read mixed things about it is all. But it's legit, aye? *hopes so, cuz it's cheap*
Zelda is a no brainer for me, but again I'll have to purchase that one on my own because it's not the best game for the whole fam to enjoy. I do want it sooo badly though, along with Super Paper Mario. I absolutely LOVED Paper Mario for GCN, and SPM is one of those that sells the system imo.
Thanks for the suggestions... I want every game you mention I think, but some of them are gonna be for me only most likely, as the kids aren't gonna like them as much as they would good old multiplayer. XD

So...I just found out that fully working video cameras, the kind used to make silent films more or less, from the 30's are pretty inexpensive, like, $100-200. Add in film, development, and a projector...I could have a silent film made for under $350.

I also feel I should warn that while The Conduit says multiplayer, it has no local, just online. And Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz has awesome multiplayer.

I think...you should do something awesome with it. O_o Like a movie that's awesome, yet meaningful.

I'm thinking it would be fun to rent a log cabin and do a first person horror short. Hard part would be to convert it to digital.

True. I've been wondering about that. FPHS sounds pretty freaking fun though. XDOrodrist wrote:I'm thinking it would be fun to rent a log cabin and do a first person horror short. Hard part would be to convert it to digital.

And...I dunno. The idea is plausible, but the execution could be tricky. I've managed to avoid becoming cult bound for 20 years. O_o
Atlantis is my favorite. It started good, and it stayed good, with very few lame episnoweds...and even those usually had some redeeming quality. I loved the original Stargate until O'Neill left...it became vastly lame after that. :\ Even with a large portion of the original cast still intact...don't do it.Deepfreeze32 wrote:Probably asked you this before, buuuutttttt

It also became not-so-subtly anti Christian...or rather, not-so-subtly insinuated that the Christian God was also an evil alien.
Not spoiling anything for you, by the way. Just to comfort you.

Pretty sure they said the Goauld were incapable of representing the Christian God, so they went with Satan.Chozon1 wrote:It also became not-so-subtly anti Christian...or rather, not-so-subtly insinuated that the Christian God was also an evil alien.
Unless you're talking about something else, in which case my brother and I (He's seen more SG-1 than I) have no idea what you are talking about. XD

I'm talking about something else...and it's a pretty freaking major spoiler. I'll still tell you...but...it pretty much reveals the end of the series. YOU IS FOREWARNED.Deepfreeze32 wrote:Pretty sure they said the Goauld were incapable of representing the Christian God, so they went with Satan.

Oh, the Ori. I'm fairly certain the Ori are evil enough to try impersonating the Christian faith, regardless of whether or not they actually were.
So, just how interconnected are the plots of Atlantis and SG-1?

There's more to it than that...I calls them as I see's dem. *shrugs*
And...kindabutnotreally. They're connected in the sense that characters and objects from each series go back and forth, but not in the sense that you need to see both to get the whole picture.

So the real question is could I start Atlantis without reaching that point on SG-1 (The end of season 7) and be able to understand it without looking at a wiki?
I'm currently on episode 7 of season 7, so I'm not far off....I just want to see this whole Atlantis thing soon.
