I decided on The Grapes of Wrath. I've only read a couple of pages, earlier today, but it caught me up pretty well.

I enjoyed DIOM, though most may not have.
It's an interesting concept, and his writing is very descriptive. Unfortunately, the characters drag sometimes and there's a hefty dose of suspension of disbelief.
Not bad, but not that good either.
The alternate history in the first book of the second series has an interesting alternate history in it. However, it suffers from the same problems as the other series.
I'm rereading Hitchhiker. Man, those books are hilarious.

1984 by George Orwell.
Orwell was a good writer. My only thought: keep unnecessary words out of writing. Yes... I dare question the brilliance of a master of the craft. How dare I. -_-

Wow... I'm decimating books lately. I finished 1984 last night.
Started up Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. Pretty good stuff, but I can tell already that it'll be a fast read.

I'm reading "Enemy at the Gates". It's about the fight for Stalingrad during WWII. One of the most graphic books I've ever read, but it's helped my view of war.

In the Hall of the Dragon King, by Stephen R. Lawhead.
S.R> Lawhead is a favorite author of mine, and the Dragon King saga is a favorite set of works. So last year when I saw the hardback collection I knew I needed to get it. I highly recommend them.

No Country For Old Men
Not necessarily as amazing as The Road, but it only furthers my admiration for Cormac McCarthy. This guy is incredible, this book is incredible. It would not be too much for me to say that this is one of my favorite books, evar. I love it.
Next up... I might try out The Orchard Keeper, McCarthy's first book. I'm on a McCarthy roll. XD
