I've never tried them. I think they could be fun, though....

Same.

When someone asks you for a book recommendation of a genre you've never read?

I ask if they've read "1984" or "Frankenstein." If they haven't read one of those, I recommend them.

I haven't read either of those, actually. They're on a long list of classic literature I intend to read that always get's bumped by a fantasy or SciFi title. I blame language arts class.

The sadness that comes when you realize books written a century ago are still relevant today?

Sadness?

... have you read the Bible? ;)

But yes, you should read 1984. You'll be surprised as to how relevant it is today... and how many of the things that are happening in the book are happening right now, or in the recent past (e.g. Josef Stalin "unmaking" people).

Ever seen the movie Office Space? If not, it's worth it if only because it has some scarily accurate portrayals of corporate America.

I have seen the movie and find it quite amusing.

However, I've never been inclined to beat a fax machine with baseball bats.

Windows computers yes, but not fax machines....

It seems like there's always a time traveler mucking up the universe?

The problem is, unless you are the time traveler or somehow exist outside the timeline, you'll never really know for sure....

Only when I'm carrying their favorite food.

In the case of one of our cats, Princess Buttercup, it could be potentially anything that resembles people food. She's a huge mooch.

No. I forgot that there was a Buttercup in that series. No, as inconceivable as it might be, Princess Buttercup was named after a completely different book / movie.
