For around $10, there's a few places that sell natural Arkansas stones for around that.

Both are pretty affordable, for me. Those work on just about any knife? (not meaning serrations)

Why is it that even in my own dreams, I can't shoot something and set it on fire like in the movies?

Sure, I nearly set my own self on fire (the lighter fluid was all around me and sparks from the shot hit it) but the giant spider was FREAKING FINE.

Kinda. I did cover it in lighter fluid.
