Depends. I'll pack a hatchet on a hike, but for serious work, a decent axe is better.

.45 Colt's a decent round, but there are better, less expensive platforms for it.

They occasionally sell 37mm flare launchers, which are basically grenade lauchers that can't shoot grenades. But they can shoot flares, fireworks, tear gas, and bean bags.
