Get Smart
Saw it in theaters, but it was still hilarious this time around. Not the best of the summer comedies this year, but I'd say one of the better, especially if one is a fan of Steve Carrell's comedy, which I am.

Marvin's Room
Seeing Meryl Streep made me even more excited for Doubt. And Leonardo DiCaprio made me more excited for Revolutionary Road. XD
This... was an excellent, excellent movie.

The acting in Marvin's Room is simply excellent. And a great, great story to boot. I love it.

How so? I just...sort of love it.
In the Valley of Elah
Beautiful. Thought provoking. Stirring. In some ways, epic. It's an amazing reflection on what war does to people on a personal level.

Trapped In Paradise.
A good ol' 1994 movie starring Nic Cage, Jon Lovitz, and Dana Carvey. It had it's moments, but these were overshadowed by an underlying sense of stupidity. Enjoyable, but immediately forgettable.

Sukiyaki Western Django
Wow. Uhm. I went in to watching this with no idea what to really expect. I came out... generally impressed. Watching this movie in hope of watching Kung Fu Hustle (cheesy, high action) is a bad move. In all reality, it was closer to Jet Li's Hero. Then again... that doesn't do it justice, either.
What I got was a beautiful story wrapped in a colorful film direction. It had its moments of undue cheesiness. It also borrowed some stuff that... just... sucked. Still... I was impressed with the overall result. Frankly, I'd watch it a few more times just to better understand the intricacies of it.
Morally... it was very violent. From "boom!headshot!" to getting beat to heck... violence is here. Including in the aggressive rape scene. Ugh. It wasn't as graphic as it could have been... but it was still horrific to watch. Significant to the story... but... it just makes me angry to think about that kinda crap happening. A few uses of the s-word was about it for the language, I think.

Yes it was a very good movie aside from the scene you described.
